Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners, July 18, 1932. j Meeting was called to order by Mayor Stevenson, the roll was called and Commissioners Stevenson, Serf�oldj Pafford and Spaeth and City Attorney Norris responded. Commissioner Morey absent. i, The minutes of the Regular Meeting of July 11th, 3.932 and Regular Meeting of July 15th, 1932, were read and approved as read• I - An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an j appropriation for the payment of certain claims." On motion of Commissioner Benfield the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had;. Ayes: Stevenson, Benfield, Pafford and Spaeth (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Morey absent. Mayor ap- proved the same and is numbered 4184• i An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance amending Section 3 of. Ordinance No. 3821, relating to the licensing and regulation of pool and billiard halls, and repealing said original Section 3 of said ordinance." On motion of Commissioner Spaeth the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayesi Stevenson, Benfield, Pafford and Spaeth (4) Kays -.,(0) Commissioner Morey absent. Mayor ap- proved the same and is numbered 4185. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance ratifying and confirming a contract with H. J. Taylor Construction Company.for the construction of certain curbing, gutter- ing and paving improvements on certain streets in the City of Salina, and providing for the issuance of Temporary Notes to pay the cost thereof pending the issuance and sale of bonds." 1 On motion of Commissioner -Spaeth same was referred to the Board < of Commissioners. A petition was presented asking that the colored citizens be given permission to use the Municipal swimming Pool. Sage was ordered filed. The appraisers report for the curbing and guttering of the north side of Republic Avenue from Ninth street to Tenth Street; and for the oving or`h Street from Jewell Avenue to center line of Cloud Street were receive&,`and on motion of Commissioner Pafford, Thursday, July 21st,.1932 at 2:00 P. M. was designated as a Special Meeting at which time the reports will be taken up and acted on by the Board of Commissioners, and that the City Clerk give notice of such meeting in the official City paper as provided by law. ' Applicatl.on No. 64 for the erection of a temporary cloth siga on front of building located at 113 North Santa Fe ''venue, received from the Kansas Dry goods Company, and on motion of Commis- sioner Spaeth same was approved by the Board of Commissioners. Trust Deed, with a deposit of $93.75 received from Jennie V• Bartlett for the North 1/2 of Lot 47, Block 3 in the Gypsum Hill Cemetery. Commissioner Pafford moved that same be accepted by the Board of Commissioners, and that the City Treasurer be instructed to place the i deposit in the Gypsum Hill -Cemetery.
