Meeting was called to order by Mayor Stevenson, the roll was called and Commissioners Stevenson, Morey and. Spaeth_and.City Attorney Norris responded. Commissioners Benfield and Pafford absent. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of.June 13th, 1932 and Regular Meeting of June 14th, 1932, were read and approved as read. Commissioner Morey moved that the State Highway Commission be permitted to construct a sewer in the alley east of Second Street from Pacific Street to Harrlilton street; same to be constructed under the supervision of the City Engineer. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriation for the payment of certain claims." On motion of Commissioner Spaeth the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and.on its. final_ adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes:. Stevenson,.Morey and Spaeth (3) Nays: (0) Commissioners Benfield. and. Pafford. absent. Mayor approved the same and.is.numbered 4167. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance relating to the construction of storm sewers in the City of Salina, Kansas, and declaring and designating the.entire City of Salina as one.sewer district for the purpose of constructing storm sewers*" I On motion of Commissioner Morey the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and _on its final adoption. the. roll was called and the following.vote was had; Ayes: Stevenson, Morey.and Spaeth (3) Nays: (0) Commissioners Benfield and. Pafford absent. Mayor approved the same and is numbered 4168. A communication was received from the Maryland Casualty Com- pany notifying the City of Salina that.Policy No. 658, written for Mrs. W. B. MCMickle , d/b/a DeLuxe Cab Company, will be cancelled June 30th, 1932. Commissioner. Spaeth moved that the—City Clerk notify Mrs. MoMickle of such cancellation. j The appraisers reports for curbing, guttering and paving improvements on: Chicago Street from Walnut Street to State Street; i i Front Street from Walnut street south to Smoky Hill River; Highland Circle from Ellsworth Avenue to Beloit Avenue; i! Jewell Avenue from Ninth Street to Eleventh Street; Kirwan Avenue from Santa Fe Avenue to Fourth Street; i Ohio Street from Iron Avenue to Gypeum, Avenue Sunset Drive from Highland Circle to Pershing Street, were received, and on motion of Commissioner Spaeth, Vjonday, June 27th, 1932 at 5:00 was designated as_& Special. Meeting, at which time the appraisers reports will.be taken up and acted on by the Board of Commissioners, and that the. _City. Clerk. give notice of such meeting in the.official City paper as provided by law. k Mayor Stevenson appointed Geo. Robb,, Ben Byrnes and W. R. Leigh- ton as members of the City Planning Commission, for a term of three j years from May 1st, 19328 and on motion of Commissioner Morey the ap- pointments were confirmed by the Board of.Commissioners. Mayor Stevenson appointed Rev. B. R. Lantz as a member of the ` Board of Public Welfare for a term of five years from May 21st, 1932; and on motion of Commissioner Spaeth the appointment was confirmed by the Board of Commissioners. Mayor Stevenson appointed Chas* F. Dodds as a member of the Board of Public Works,, to fill vacancy caused by reason of the death of Glen F. ,York; and -on motion of Cowidasioner Morey the appointment was confirmed by the Board of Commissioners. On motion of Commissioner Morey the Board of Commissioners adjourned, city clerk.
