COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING
COMMISSIONERS ROOM,
SALINA, KANSAS.
MAY 23rd, 1932.
Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners, May 23rd, 1932.
Meeting was called to order by Mayor Stevenson, the roll was called
and Commissioners Stevenson, Benfield, Morey, Pafford and Spaeth and
City Attorney Norris responded.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of May l6th, 1932 and of
May 20th, 1932, were read and approved as read.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An
ordinance amending Section 2 of Ordinance No. 4056 relating to the
parking of vehicles on certain streets in the City of Salina and
repealing said original Section 2 of Ordinance No. 4056."
On motion of Commissioner Morey the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the following vote was had; Ayes: Stevenson, Benfield, Morey,
Pafford and Spaeth (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the same and is
numbered 4159.
A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A
resolution relating to improving of certain portions of Ninth Street
from the south line of Jewell Avenue to center line of Cloud Street,
with Bituminous Mat Surfacing, and repealing Resolution No. 532."
On motion of Commissioner Pafford the resolution was adopted as
read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following
vote was had; Ayes: Stevenson, Benfield, Morey, Pafford and Spaeth
(5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the same and is numbered 535.
The above resolution is recorded in full on Page 192 of Resolu-
tion Book Number 2.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An
ordinance modifying the contract entered into between the City of
Salina, and The United Power and Light Corporation, relating to the
furnishing of electric current for street lighting in the City of
Salina and charges to be paid by the City of Salina therefor.
On motion of Commissioner Benfield same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
Bids for concession privileges in Oakdale Park during the
Swimming Pool season Of 1932 received as follows:
Mrs. Lelia Shelley, 65.00
Mrs. L. H. Wood, 75.00
Mrs. Lovell Fry 90.00
Mrs. Bernard Collister 125.00
Commissioner Morey moved that bid of Mrs. Collister be accept -
ed.
On motion of Commissioner Pafford the Board of Commissioners
adjourned.
