Meeting was called to order by Mayor Stevenson, the roll was called and Commissioners Stevenson, Morey, Pafford: Peters and j ! Spaeth and City Attorney Norris responded. i The minutes of the Regular Meeting of October 23rd, 1833 and Regular Meeting.of October 28th=.1933, were read and approved as read. An ordinance was introduced entitl'eds' *An "ordinance making an appropriation for the pa7meIIt of certain claims. On motion of Commissioner Peters the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ages: Stevenson, Morey, Pafford, Peters and Spaeth (6) Nays (0) Mayor approved the same and is numbered 4318. The following report was received from the Waterworks Advis- ory Board: Salina, Kansas. October 27., 1933. A special meeting of the Waterworks Advisory Board was held in the City Managers office in the City Hall at 4:00 P. M. October 27, 1933, with the following members present: Roy F• Bailey, Chairman, Chas. Shaver,. F. D. Kastner, R. C. Qebhart, H. N. Lamme, City Engineer and H. L. Brown, Secretary. Leon Stevenson being absent. The question of replacing of the present 6"` main in j Ninth Street from a point approximately 200 feet north of Iron Avenue to forth Street, before the proposed resurfacing is laid was discussed. After some discussion Mr. Gebhart moved that the Board recommend to the City Commissioners the replacing of the 6" main in Ninth Street frown a point 200 feet north of Iron 'avenue to Bishop Street with a 12" main, the 6" main in Ninth Street from Bishop to North Street be replaced with a 10* main. This motion was seconded by Mr. Kastner and the vote taken was unanimous. s Mr. Shaver moved that the Board redommend to the City Cox- missioners the installation of a water main into Highland Court ark for park use - said main to extend west from Sheridan in Republic Avenue, then south through the approximately center of the park.. It was thought advisable to use the 8" pipe removed from Santa Fe Avenue for that purpose, which,, owing to its conditionshould not be covered with pavement. This motion was seconded by Mr. Kastner and the vote taken j was unanimous. No further business appearing the meeting adjourned. H. L. Brown, I i secretary. Commissioner Spaeth moved that recommendations be approved and that the City Attorney'be instructed to draft an 9rdinance pro- viding for the construction of water mains on Walnut treet and on Ninth Street. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: *An ordinance providing .for and authorizing -the construction: of certain water mains in Ninth Street and Walnut Street in the City of Salina, Kansas, and approving plans, specifications and estimates of cost relating, to such work, and providing ,for the pa7ment of the cost of such work.', On motion of Commissioner Pafford the ordinance was referred to the Board of Coundis stoners . Mrs* R. P. Cravens resigned as a member of the Board of Directors of Salina Public Health Nursing Associatif# and Mayor Stevenson sutbmitted the name of airs. L. L.
