Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners October 26, 1933,
Meeting was called to order by Mayor Stevenson, the roll was called
and Commissioners Stevenson, Morey, Pafford, Peters and Spaeth and
City Attorney Norris responded*
Bids for the construction of Storm Sewer No. 9A and Lateral
Sanitary Sewer No. 1680 received as follows:
Storm Sewer No. 9A
D. L. Wheelock Construction Co. Clay Centers Kansas
Koss Construction Company, Des Moines, Iowa.
H.J.Taylor Construction -Company, Salinas Kansas.
Sanitary Sewer #168
H -J -Taylor Construction Company, Salina, Kansas.
City Engineers estimate of cost for the construction of Storm
Sewer No. 9A was read*
City Engineers estimate of cost for the construction of Later-
al Sanitary Sewer No,. 168 was read.
All bids were tabulated by the City Engineer*
Commissioner Morey moved that the contract for construction of
Storm Sewer No. 9A be awarded to H. J. Taylor Construction Company as
per bid submitted for concrete construction, and that the Mayor be
authorized to sign contract on behalf of the City for such work with
H. J. Taylor Construction Company, and that the City '.Clerk be in-
structed to return certified checks to unsuccessful bidders. Motion.
adopted.
Commissioner Pafford moved that the bid on Sanitary Sewer
Number 168 be rejected, on account of same being in excess of City
Engineers estimate for such work, and that the City Engineer be author-
ized and directed to proceed to do such work at a cost within the
amount of the estimate. Motion carried.
On motion of Commissioner Morey the City Clerk was instructed
to advertise for bids for the reconstruction of the pumping station
building of the Water Department, to be received up to and including
November 10th, 1933 at 5:00 P. M. Motion carried.
On motion of Commissioner Spaeth the Board of Commissioners
adjourned.
