COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING.
COMMISSIONERS ROOM,
SALINA, KANSAS.
OCTOBER 16, 1933.
Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners October 16th,
1933. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Stevenson, the roll was
called and Commissioners Stevenson, Morey, Peters and Spaeth and City
Att orney Norris responded. Commissioner Pafford absent.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of October 9th, 1933s were read
and approved as read.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an
appropriation for the payment of miscellaneous claims."
On motion of Commissioner Morey the ordinance was read and adopted
by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the fol-
lowing vote was had; Ayes: Stevenson, Morey, Peters and Spaeth (4)
Nays: (0) Commissioner Pafford absent. Mayor approved the same and
is numbered 4314.
A resolution was introduced entitled: "A Resolution relating to
and designating certain depositaries of City funds and approving
securities deposited as security for such funds."

On motion of Commissioner Peters the resolution was adopted as
read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following
vote was had; Ayes: Stevenson, Morey, Peters and Spaeth (4) Nays:
(0) Commissioner Pafford absent. Mayor approved the same and is num-
bered 581.
The above resolution is recorded in full on Pages 241 and 242
in Resolution Book Number 2.

A resolution was introduced entitled: "A resolution accepting
trust proposal of the Governor of Kansas for the establishment and
operation of a Federal Relief Fund from Federal Relief Funds, for the
Rayment of work relief wages on a Work Relief Project entitled,
Construction of Sewer."
On motion of Commissioner Morey the resolution was adopted as read
and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote
was had; Ayes: Stevenson, Morey, Peters and Spaeth (4) Nays: (0)
Commissioner Pafford absent. Mayor approved the same and is numbered
582.
The above resolution is recorded in full on Page 243 in Resolution
Book Number 2.
A resolution was introduced entitled: "A Resolution accepting

Improvement and Replacement."
On motion of Commissioner Spaeth the resolution was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and
the followinvote was had; Ayes: Stevenson, Morey, Peters and
Spaeth (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Pafford absent. Mayor approved
the same and is numbered 583.

Application for license for the sale of malt and cereal beverages
for the last quarter of 1933 received as follows

Commissioner Spaeth moved that applications be approved by the
Board of Commissioners. Carried.
Commissioner Peters moved that the City Clerk advertise for
bids for the construction of Storm Sewer No. 9-A and Lateral Sanitary
Sewer No. 168. Bids to be received
up to and including Thursdays
October 26th, 1933 at 5:00 P. M. Motion carried.
A petition was presented asking for the construction of a
sanitary sewer to serve Lots 10 3, 5, 7s go lls 13s 15, 17 and 19
on Kirwin Avenue and Lots 18 and -20 on Claflin Avenue, all in Addi-
tion to Grounds of Kansas Wesleyan University Addition. Same was
referred to the City Engineer.
A petition was presented asking for the curbing, guttering and
paving of Columbia Avenue from Ash Street to Elm Street. Same was
ordered filed.
A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: "A
resolution relating to the curbing, guttering and paving of Columbia
Avenue from Ash Street to Elm Street.
On motion same ms referred to the Board of Commissioners*
Application No. 97 asking for the erection of a sign on front
of building located at 105 North Santa Fe Avenues occupied by Parisian
Ready to Wear'was received, and on motion of Commissioner Peters same
was approved by the Board of Commissioners.
On motion of Commissioner Spaeth the Board of Commissioners
adjourned to meet on October 20th, 1933 at,5:00 P. M.
