COMMISSIONERS ROOM,
SALINA, KANSAS.
SEPTEMBER 25, 1933.
Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners September 25,
1933. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Stevenson, the roll was
called and Commissioners Stevenson, Morey, Pafford and Peters and
City Attorney Norris responded. Commissioner Spaeth absent.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of September 180 1933s
were read and approved as read.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making
an appropriation for the payment of certain claims."
On motion of Commissioner Pafford the ordinance was read i
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the following vote was had; Ayes: Stevenson, Morey, Pafford and
Peters (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Spaeth absent. Mayor approved
the same and is numbered 4307.
A resolution was introduced entitled: "A Resolution accepting
trust proposal of the Governor of Kansas for the establishment and
operation of a Federal Relief Fund from Federal Relief Funds for the
payment of work relief wages on a Work Relief Project entitled, "Street
Improvement and Repair."
On motion of Commissioner Morey the resolution was adopted
as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the follow-
ing vote was had; Ayes: Stevenson, Morey, Pafford and Peters (4)
Nays: (0) Commissioner Spaeth absent. Mayor approved the same and
is numbered 577.
The above resolution is recorded in full on Page 237 of
Resolution Book Number 2.
A petition was presented asking for the installation of
an electric light on East Jewell Avenue at the McPherson Branch tracks.
Same was referred to the City Manager.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance providing for the construction of a certain storm sewer
in the City of Salina to be designated as Storm Sewer Number 9-A, and
providing for the manner in which such improvement is to be done and
the manner of payment of the cost thereof.
On motion of Commissioner Peters same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
Sign Application No. 95, asking for permission to erect a
sign on front of building occupied by the Salina Mercantile Company
was received. On motion of Commissioner Morey same was approved
by the Board of Commissioners.
