Meeting was called to order by Mayor Stevenson, the roll was called and Commissioners Stevenson, Morey, Pafford and Peters and City Attorney Norris responded. Commissioner Spaeth absent* it j The minutes of the Regular Meeting of September 11, 19330 were I read and approved as read. Bids for the sale of Paving Bonds in the amount of $280050.35 and Sewer Bonds in the amount of $30292.01 received from: r _ Commerce Trust Company Kansas City, Missouri. Baum, Bernheimer Company, Kansas City, Missouri. Branch -Israel Company, Wichita, Kansas. j ! Brown-Crummer Company, Wichita, Kansas. Dunne, Davidson, Ranson Investment Company, Wichita, Kansas. Commissioner Pafford moved that all bids be rejected and checks returned to the bidders. f Commissioner Morey moved that Paving Bonds in the amount of i $280050.35 and Sewer Bonds in the amount of $3,292.01 be sold at par, accrued interest, cost of printing bonds, and a premium of $5.00 per j thousand, as follows: ! National Bank of America, Salina, Kansas $100000.00 f Geo. Welling, Salina, Kansas 6,000.00 City of Salina, Water Department 158342.36 and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Stevenson, Pafford, Morey and Peters (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Spaeth abseft. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriation for the payment of certain claims." On notion of Commissioner Pafford the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Stevenson, Morey, Pafford and Peters (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Spaeth absent. Mayor approved the same and is numbered 4306. A petition was received from the Board of Trustees of the University Church protesting against destroying the center parking of Claflin Avenue; also that heavy traffic be routed away from the corner of Claflin Avenue and Santa Fe Avenue. Same was ordered filed* i j Two applications for the sale of malt and cereal beverages were received, and on motion of Commissioner Pafford same were approved by f the Board of Commissioners. I A resolution was introduced entitled: "A Resolution accepting Trust Proposal of the Governor of Kansas for the establishment and operation of a Federal Relief Fund from Federal Relief Funds, for the payment of work relief wages on a Work Relief Project entitled, "Street Repair*" On motion of Commissioner Peters the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was call;d and the following vote was had; Ayes: Stevenson, Morey, Pafford and eters (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Spaeth absent. Mayor approved the same and is numbered i 576. The above resolution is recorded in full on Page 236 of Resolution Book Number 2.
