SEPTEMBER 11, 1933.
Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners September ll,
1933. Meeting was called to order bac Mayor Stevenson, the roll was
called and Commissioners Ste venson, Pafford, Peters and Spaeth and
City Attorney Norris responded. Commissioner Morey absent.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of September 5th, 1933
were read and approved as read.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making
an appropriation for the payment of certain claims."
On motion of Commissioner Pafford the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the following vote was had; Ayes: Stevenson, Pafford, Peters
and Spaeth (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Morey absent. Mayor approved
the same and is numbered 4304.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled:
"An ordinance relating to and regulating traffic on certain streets
in the City of Balina."
On motion of Commissioner Spaeth -the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on'its final adoption the roll was called
and the following vote was had; Ayes: Stevenson, Pafford, Peters
and Spaeth (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Morey absent. Mayor ap-
proved the same and is numbered 4305.
Two applications for the sale of malt and cereal beverages
were received and on motion of Commissioner Pafford same were approved
by the Board of Commissioners.
Application for Pool Hall license for the last half of
1933 received from:
White Way Smoker
Geo. Holzmeister.
Commissioner Spaeth moved that license be granted to the
White Way Smoker and Geo. Holzmeister for Pool Hall license for the
last half of 1933.
Application for taxicab license received from Roy E. Fowler.
Commissioner Peters moved that same be granted subject to the approv-
al of the City Attorney.
Commissioner Spaeth moved that the City Engineer be author-
ized to install a flood gate at Second Street and Crawford Avenue.
Commissioner Peters moved that the Building Inspector be in-
structed to issue a building permit to C. B. Dodge to build a garage
at 511 South Ninth Street, in compliance with Section 30 of Ordinance
Number 2993.
On motion of Commissioner Pafford the Board of Commissioners
adjourned.
