07-03-1933 MinutesCOBtBViISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING. COMMISSIONERS ROOM, SALINA, KANSAS. JULY 3, 1933. Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners, July 30 1933. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Stevenson, the roll was called and Commissioners Stevenson, Morey, Pafford, Peters and Spaeth and City Attorney Norris responded. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of June 26, 1933s were read and approved as read. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriation for the payment of certain claims." On motion of Commissioner Spaeth the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Stevenson, Morey, Pafford, Peters and Spaeth (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the same and is num- 1 bered 4286. City Engineer submitted the following report in connection with construction of Storm Sewer Number 11-A: Salina, Kansas, July 1st, 1933. To the Hon. Board of Commissioners, City of Salina, Kansas. Gentlemen: The construction of the Fourth Street Storm Sewer, No. 11-A from Minneapolis street south to Claflin. Avenue, with lateral con- nections in Ellsworth Avenue and Kirwin Avenue, has been completed by the H. J. Taylor Construction Company, under contract for Job No. 75 dated May 9th, 1933, all in accordance with the plans and specifics - tions for the above work. I hereby approve the work done under the above contract and recommend the acceptance of the work, and that the final estimate due the contractor be allowed. Respectfully submitted, H. N. Lamme , My Engineer. On motion of Commissioner Morey same was accepted by the Board of Commissioners. City Engineer submitted Final Estimate to H. J. Taylor Con- struction Company for the construction of Storm Sewer No. 11-A, under contract dated May 9, 1933, and on motion of Commissioner Peters same was approved by the Board of Commissioners. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriation for the payment of a certain claim." On motion of Commissioner Pafford the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Stevenson, Morey, Pafford, Peters and Spaeth (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the same and is numbered 4287. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriation from the funds of the Water Department for the purchase of a Temporary Note of the City of Salina." On motion of Commissioner Morey the ordinance was read and j adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the followin vote was hadrr• Ayes: Stevenson, Morey, Pafford, Spaeth and Peters �5} Nags: (01 Mayor approved the same and is numbered 4288. A petition was presented asking for the location of a street light at the intersection of Santa Fe Avenue and Harsh Street. Same was referred to the City Manager.
