06-26-1933 MinutesCOMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING. COMMISSIONERS ROOM, SALINA, KANSAS. JUNE 260 1933. Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners June 26, 1933. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Stevenson, the roll was called and Commissioners Stevenson, Korey, Pafford, Peters and Spaeth and City Attorney Norris responded. i The minutes of the Regular Meeting of June 19, 1933; and Regular Meeting of June 20, 19330 were read and approved as read. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriation for the payment of certain claims." On motion of Commissioner Spaeth the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Stevenson, Morey, Pafford, Peters and Spaeth (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the same and is numbered 4282. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriation for the payment of certain claims." On motion of Commissioner Morey the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final a doption the roll was called and the following vote washad; Ayes: Stevenson, Morey, Pafford, Peters and Spaeth (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the same and is numbered 4283. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriation for the payment of certain claims." On motion of Commissioner Pafford the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Stevenson, Morey, Pafford, Peters and Spaeth (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the same and is numbered 4284. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance providing for and authorizing the appropriation and transfer of certain amounts from the Funding Bond Account of the General Fund to certain other sub -divisions or departments of the General and Special Funds." On motion of Commissioner Peters the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Stevenson, Morey, Pafford, Peters and Spaeth (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the same and is numbered 4285. The following recommendations were received from the City Planning Commission: Salina, Kansas, June 22, 1933. The City Planning Commission met in special session advertised for the purpose of holding a "public hearing" on two petitions for rezoning: 1. A petition for rezoning from residential to commercial, the "Miller" corner at 9th and Walnut, for the purpose of erecting a filling station on this site. 2. A petition for rezoning from residential to commercial, the following described properties. Lots 88, 90, 92, 96 and 980 east side of Ninth street between Cloud and Woodlawn Avenues. In connection with the first petition, the planning commission, after listening to the arguments both for and against this proposition voted to deny the petition. And in connection with the second petition the commission voted to deny this petition and to recommend in its stead the following: That the following described property be re -zoned from resi- dential to commercial, beginning at 9th and Claflin, west 200 feet 'then south to Cloud Street, then east On Cloud to the alley between Ninth and Highland, then north on this alley line to Claflin, then west to place of beginning; thus extending the present commercial zone at Ninth and Claflin along each side of Ninth Street to Cloud. 1 n F� The following members of the Planning Commission were present: Mr.-Dyar, Mr. Bren, Mr. Byrnes, Mr. McCarty and Mr. Reynolds. Petitions were presented asking for favorable consideration of the flood control project in the City of Salina. same were ordered filed. Sign application No. 91 asking for temporary cloth sign to be erected on front of building occupied by the J. C. Penney Company was received, and on motion of Commissioner Pafford same was granted by the Board of Commissioners. On motion of Commissioner Morey the Board of Commissioners adjourned.
