Meeting was called to order by Mayor Stevenson, the roll was called and Commissioners Stevenson,.Pafford, Peters and Spaeth and City Attorney Norris responded. Commissioner Morey absent. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an,appropriation for the payment of certain claims." a I i On motion of Commissioner Spaeth the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the followingvote was had; Ayes: Stevenson, Pafford, Peters and Spaeth (4) ays: (0) Commissioner Morey absent. Mayor ap- proved the same and is numbered 4276. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special assessments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of Salina to pay the cost of repaving Santa Fe Avenue from the north line of Elm Street ti the south line of WalnutStreet,, in the City of Salina, Kansas, and relating to and providing for the collection and payment of such assessments." I On motion of Commissioner Spaeth the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the fallowing vote was had; Ayes: Stevenson, Pafford, Peters and Spaeth (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Morey absent. Mayor ap- proved the same and is numbered 4277. i An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: ' I "An ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special I assessments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of Salina fe to pay the cost of reeurbing Santa Avenue from the north line of Ash Street to the north line oF Elm Streetin the City of Salina, Kansas, and relating to and providing for the collection and payment of such assessments." On motion of Commissioner Pafford the ordinance was read I and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was i called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Stevenson, Pafford, Peters and Spaeth (4,) Nays: (0) Commissioner Morey absent. Mayor approved the same and is numbered 4278. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: ! "An ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special assessments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of Salina, to pay the cost of reeurbing Santa Fe Avenue from the north line of Ash Street to the south line of WalnutStreet in the City of Salina, Kansas, and relating to and providing for the collection and I payment of such assessments." On motion of Commissioner Peters the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Stevenson, Pafford, Peters and Spaeth (4) Nags: (0) Commissioner Morey absent. Mayor ap- proved the same and is numbered 4279. � E An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance relating to and regulating parking of vehicles on cer- tain portions of Santa Fe Avenue in the City of Salina, and provid- ing a penalty for the violation of this ordinance." On motion of Commissioner Spaeth the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and ox its finaladoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Stevenson, Pafford, Peters and Spaeth (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Morey absent. Mayor approved the same and is numbered 4280. A resolution was introduced entitled: "A resolution designat- ing certain banks as depositaries for the funds of the City of Salina, and relating to and regulating the taking of security for such de- posits, and relating to and regulating the deposit of the funds of the City of Salina in such depositary banks." On motion of Commissioner Spaeth the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the follow ing vot was had* Ayes: Stevenson, Pafford, Peters and Spaeth (4) t0) Nays: Commissioner Korey absent. Mayor approved the same and is numbered 568. The above resolution is recorded in full on Page 228, j Resolution Book Number 2. A resolution was introduced entitled: "A Resolution re- lating to Union Pacific Railroad Company's street lighting in the City of Salina." On motion of Commissioner Pafford the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had: Ayes: Stevenson, Pafford, Peters and Spaeth (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Morey absent.' The following communication was received from the City Planning Commission: 1 � Salina, Kansas. June 15, 1933. The City Planning Commission met in regular session in the Chamber of Commerce rooms at 5:00 P. M. Members present: Mr. Dyar, Mr. Bren, Mr. Byrnes, Mr. Robb, Mr. McCarty and Mr. Reynolds. Members absent: Mr. Leighton. There was presented at this meeting, a petition by Mr. H. A. Curtis for the re -zoning from residential to commercial, j the following described lots: 88-90-92-94-96-98, being a tract measuring 265 feet from Cloud Avenue to the center line of Wood - lawn Avenue and 150 feet from Ninth Street east to the alley. In this petition it is proposed to erect on lots 88 and 90 a service station. The plan commission voted to postpone action on this until Thursday evening June 22nd, at which time a public hearing would be held and all parties interested, living in this territory are to be notified of such public hearing. i A petition was presented by Mr. Carl S. Byers, represent- ing the Continental Oi1.Company and Mr. H. D. Miller, requesting the re -zoning from residential to commercial the "Miller` lot at the corner of Ninth and Walnut Street for the purpose of erecting a Continental Oil station at this location. The Plan Commission voted to postpone action on this until Thursday evening, June 22nd, at which time there would be advert- ised, a public hearing on this re -zoning and the Secretary was instructed to notify all parties interested, living in this vicinity of this public hearing. i In response to a petition by Mr. Warren Smither requesting the re -zoning from residential to light industrial,.the prdpe rty at 115 South Park Street, Leavenworth Addition for the purpose of erecting a laundry. The Plan Commission, after discussing this proposal, voted unanimously to reject this petition. i There being no further business the Commission adjourned to meet to meet again at a special meeting the evening of June 22nd at 5:00 P. M. ` F. L. Re Holds, Secretary. Commissioner Pafford moved that same be received and ordered filed. i A lease was presented entered into between the Texas Com - pang and the City of Salina (Airport).
