05-29-1933 Minutes1 1 I. COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING. COMMISSIONERS ROOM, SALINA, KANSAS. MAY 29, 1933• Regular. meeting of the Board of Commissioners May 29, 1933. Meeting was called to order by'Mayor Stevenson, the roll was called and Commissioners Stevenson, Pafford, Peters and Spaeth and City Ittorney Norris responded. Commissioner Morey absent. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of May 222 1933, were read and aproved as read. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance -ratifying and confirming a contract for the construction of Storm Sewer No. 11-A in the City of Salina, and providing for the issuance of temporary notes to pay the cost thereof pending the issuance and sale of bonds." On motion of Commissioner Peters same was referred to the Board of Commissioners. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance providing for the issuance of Funding Bonds of the City of Salina, Kansas, in the aggregate sum of $710966.730 for the purpose of refunding certain overdrawn funds, overdrawn bond funds, and certain indebtedness of the City of Salina, as required by the provisions of House bill 745 enacted by the 1933 session of the Legislature of the State of Kansas." On motion of Commissioner Spaeth same was referred to the Board of Commissioners. Commissioner Pafford moved that an are light be placed at Phillips Street and Spruce Street, and that the United Power..and Light Corporation be instructed to place light at that location. Olotion carried. On motion of Commissioner Spaeth the Board of Commissioners adjourned. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriation for the payment of certain claims." On motion of Commissioner Spaeth the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its finaledoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Stevenson, Pafford, reters and Spaeth .(4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Morey absent., Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 4265. G City Clerk An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriation for the payment of certain claims." On motion of Commissioner Spaeth the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its finaledoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Stevenson, Pafford, reters and Spaeth .(4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Morey absent., Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 4265.
