02-24-1933 Minutes1 i 1 1 1 COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING. COMMISSIONERS ROOM, SALINA, KANSAS. FEBRUARY 240 1933. Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners$ February 24, 1933. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Stevenson, the roll was called and Commissioners Stevenson, Morey, Paulsen and Spaeth and City Attorney Norris responded. Commissioner Pafford absent. City Engineer submitted plans and specifications and estimate of cost for the 1Mpr"1U0f Santa Fe Avenue from the north line of Elm Streetto the south line of WaURE S Feet. On motion of Commissioner Spaeth same were adopted by the Board of Commissioners, and the. City Clerk was instructed to ad- vertise for bids to be received up to and including March 1st, 1933 at 5:00 P. M. A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: "A resolution relating to White Way lights on Santa Fie Avenue." On motion of Commissioner Morey same was referred to the Board of Commissioners. The following applications for Taxi Cab Licenses for the year 1933, with Liability Insurance Policies covering the vehicles de- scribed in the applications, were presented for approval, with certificates of the License Inspector showing approval of the con- dition of said cabs, and the City Attorney reported that he had examined and approved the applications and the insurance policies. Commissioner Spaeth moved that said applications be approved and that the following licenses be issued, upon due payment of the license and insection fees required by ordinance, such licenses to be cancelled if approved insurance liability policies are not at all times kept in force, to -wit: License No. 20, -for Chevrolet, Serial No. 5AE22746, Motor No. 2421044 to Red Top Cab Company, Operator and W. A. Taylor, Owners covered by Liability Insurance Policy No. 121718 issued by The Mercer Casualty Company, expiring April 70 1933. License No. 23, for Ford Coach, Motor No. 3769659 to Red Top Cab Company, Operator and S. H. Buell, Owner, covered by Liability Insurance Policy No. 121506, issued by The Mercer Casualty Company, expiring April 40 1933. Motion was seconded by Commissioner Morey and duly carried. Mayor Stevenson appointed Mrs. R. P. Cravens and D. A, VanTrine as members of Public Health Nursing Association for a term of one year from February 24th, 1933.
