02-21-1933 MinutesLJ 1 1 1 COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING. C OM1 ISS IONERS ROOM, SALINA, KANSAS, FEBRUARY 21, 1933. Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners, February 21st, 1933. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Stevenson, the roll was called and Commissioners Stevenson, Morey, Pafford, Paulsen and Spaeth and City Attorney Norris responded. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance providing for the repaving of Santa Fe Avenue from the north line of Elm Street to the south lIng o a u reet, and providing for -the cost thereof, how the same shall be assessed and the manner of pa7ment therefor." On motion of Uommiss ioner Spaeth the ordinance was read and adopted by'sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Stevenson, Morey, Pafford, Paulsen and Spaeth (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the same and is numbered 4235. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance providing for the recurbing.of Santa Fe Avenue from the north line of Ash Street to the south l ne of WalnutSt et and pro- viding for the cost thereof how the same shall be assessed and the manner of payment therefor.A On motion of Commissioner Paulsen the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Stevenson, Morey, Pafford, Paulsen and Spaeth (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the same and is numbered 4236. Moved by Commissioner Morey that the motion adopted February 200 1933, relating to granting no licenses or permits to persons requiring licenses or permits who are engaging in business in viola- tion of Zoning Ordinance not to take effect until March 5th, 1933. Seconded by Commissioner Spaeth, and on roll call the following vote was had; Ayes: Ste4enson, Morey, Pafford, Paulsen and Spaeth (5) Na7s: (0). The following applications for Taxi Cab Licenses for the year 1933, with Liability Insurance Policies covering the vehicles de- sreibed in the applications, were presented for approval, with certificates of the License Inspector showing approval of the condition of said cabs, and the City Attorney reported that he had examined and approved the applications and the insurance policies. Commissioner Moreymoved that said applications be approved and that the following licenses be issued, upon due payment of the license and inspection fees required by ordinance, such licenses to be can- celled if approved insurance liability policies are not at all times kept in force, to -wit: License No. 1 for Willys 60 Serial No. 69OA20610, Motor Number 69OA19665, to DeLuxe Cab Company, Operator and Chas. Coffman, Owner, covered by Liability Insurance Policy No. 67312 issued by The Mercer Casualty Company, expiring July -14, 1933. License No. 22 for Willys 62 Serial No. 2443, Motor No. 2565, to DeLuxe Cab Company, Operator and Virgil Yeagley, Owner, covered by Liability Insurance Policy No.95999 issued by The Mercer Casualty Company, expiring July 14, 1933. License No. 3, for Willys 6, Serial No. 38314, Motor No. 38274 to DeLuxe Cab Company, Operator and Dennis Jolly, Owner, covered by Liability Insurance Policy No. 96000, issued by the Mercer Casualty Company, expiring July 14th, 1933. License No. 4, for Ford Sedan, Motor No. 4737061 to De Luxe Gab Company, Operator and Earl Pilcher, Owner, covered by Liability Isnuranee Policy No.96049 issued by The Mercer Casualty Company, expiring July 14th, 1933. J. License No. 6, for Whippet.4, Serial No. 405899, Motor No. 404820 to De Luxe Cab Company. Operator and Oscar Minard, Owner, cover- ed by Liability Insurance Policy No. 67316 issued by the Mercer Casualty Company expiring July 14th, 1933. License No. 7, for Pontiac Sedan, Serial No. 565315P, Motor i No. 642897 to DeLuxe Cab Companys Operator and.R. S. Peterson, Owner, I covered by Liability Insurance Policy No. 67314 issued by The Mercer Casualty Company expiring July 14th, 1933. Peterson, Owner, covered by Liability Insurance Policy No. 67315 issued by The Mercer Casualty Company, expiring July 14th, 1933. License No. 16 for Hudson Sedan, Motor No. 227211, to I. S. Pyle, j Operator and Owner, covered by Liability Insurance Policy No. 139362 issued by The Mercer Casualty company, expiring June 7th, 1933. License No. 24 for Buick Sedan, Serial No. 22474570 Motor No* 2564463 to I. 0. Sewell, Operator and Owner, covered by Liability Insurance Policy No. 145920 issued by the Mercer Casualty Company, expiring July 29, 1933. Motion was seconded be commissioner Spaeth and duly carried. C. 0. Sandberg filed application for transfer of Taxi Cab License No. 12, from Hudson Sedan, Serial No. 7369730 Motor No. 445301, to Chevrolet Sedan, Serial No. 5AD47042, Motor No. 1947178, and presented endorsement on Liability Insurance Policy No. 146741 issued by Mercer Casualty Company, covering such car. On motion of i Commissioner Spaeth, seconded by Commissioner Morey, the transfer was approved, and licensee authorized to transfer license, and license tag issued to him, to the Chevrolet above described.
