Meeting was called to order by Mayor Pafford, the roll was called and Commissioners Pafford, Spaeth, IrIorey, Peters and Shrface and City Attorney Norris responded. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of November 26, 1934 were read and approved as read. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriation for the payment of certain claims." On motion of Commissioner Spaeth the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Pafford, Spaeth, Morey, Peters and Surface (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is num- bered 4480. The following claim to be paid from Relief Highway Fund was pre- sented for payment: i Chas. E. Banker, City Clerk, Cash paid out for labor $78.00 Commissioner Spaeth moved that claim be approved by the Board of Commissioners. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making; an appropriation from the Relief Highway Fund for the payment of a certain claim." On motion of Commissioner Peters the ordinance was read and adopted, by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the follow- ing vote was had; Ayes: Pafford, Spaeth, LIorey, Peters and Surface (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 4481. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance appropriat- ing the sum of 4508.90 from the Hillcrest Endowment Fund for the ur- chase of bonds to be held in the Investment Account of such fund.° On motion of Commissioner Morey the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the follocaing vote was had; Ayes: Pafford, Spaeth, Irlorey, Peters and Surface. (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is num- bered 4482. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special assessments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of Salina, Kansas to pay the cost of constructing Lateral Sanitary Sewer No. 169, and relat- ing to and providing for the collection and payment of such assessments." On motion of Commissioner Morey the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the follow- ing vote was had; Ayes: Pafford, Spaeth, Morey, Peters and Surface (5) Mays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 4483. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance ratifying and confirming a contract for the building, and con- struction of lateral sanitary sewer No. 170, and providing for the issu- ance of temporary notes to pay the cost thereof pending issuance and sale • of bonds." On motion of Commissioner Peters the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the fol- lowing vote was had; Ayes: Pafford, Spaeth, Morey, Peters and Surface (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 4484. A petition was presented asking for the location of a light the on corner of Seventh Street and Woodland Avenue. Sante was referred to the City Manager. The following recommendation was presented from the Vlaterworks Advisory Board: Salina, Kansas. December 3, 1934. To the Board of City Commissioners: "we, the members of the Waterworks Advisory Board recommend the laying of a 6" water main in Republic Avenue from a point approximately 300 feet west of Ninth Street, west to connect with the main at Custer and Republic. Also the laying of a 4" water main east in North Street from the Santa Fe Railroad tracks, east to connect with the line now stubbed out at Front and North Street." F. D. Kastner L. B.
