NOVEMBER 5, 1934.
Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners November 5, 1934.
Meeting was called to order by Acting Mayor Pafford, the roll was
called and Commissioners Pafford, Peters and Spaeth and City Attorney
Norris responded. Commissioner Morey absent. The vacancy caused by
the death of Commissioner M. A. Stevenson not having been filled.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of October 29, 1934, were
read and approved as read.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an
appropriation for the payment of certain claims."
On motion of Commissioner Peters the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the following vote was had; Ayes: Pafford, Peters and Spaeth
(3) Nays: (0) Commissioner Morey absent. Acting Mayor approved
the ordinance and it is numbered 4472.
The following claim to be paid from Relief Highway Fund was
presented for payment:

Chas. E. Banker, City Clerk, Cash paid out for labor $p368.80
Commissioner Spaeth moved that claim be approved by the Board
of Commissioners. Motion adopted.

An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance appropriat-
ing certain money from the Relief Highway Fund for the payment of a
certain claim."
On motion of Commissioner.Peters the ordinance was read and
adopted bar sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and
the following vote was had; Ayes: Pafford, Peters and Spaeth (3)
Nays: (0) Commissioner Morey absent. Acting Mayor approved the
ordinance and it is numbered 4473.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance appropriat-
ing certain money from the Sinking Fund for the purchase of bonds to
be held in the Investment Account of such fund."
On motion of Commissioner Peters the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and
the following vote was had; Ayes: Pafford, Peters and Spaeth (3)
Nays: (0) Commissioner Morey -absent. Acting Mayor approved the
ordinance and it is numbered 4474.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An
ordinance creating and defining a certain Lateral Sanitary Sewer
district in the City of Salina designated as Lateral Sewer District
No. 170, providing for the construction of a Lateral Sanitary Sewer in
such district and for the cost thereof and for the levying of special
assessments against the property in such district for the payment of
such cost, and for the issuing of bonds therefor."
On motion of Commissioner Spaeth the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its finaladoption the roll was called and
the following vote was had; Ayes: Pafford, Peters and Spaeth (3)
Na ys: (0) Commissioner Morey absent. Acting Mayor approved the
ordinance and it is numbered 4475.
A resolution was introduced entitled: "A Resolution relating
to the application of the City of Salina for Emerg9ncy Relief Funds in
connection with the construction of Lateral Sanitary Sewer No. 170."
On motion of Commissioner Peters the resolution was adopted as
read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following
vote was had; Ayes: Pafford, Peters and Spaeth (3) Nays: (0)
Commissioner Morey absent. Acting Mayor approved the Resolution and
it is numbered 609.
The above resolution is recorded in full on Page 282 of Resolu-
tion Book Number 2.

in connection with a project for the construction of concrete sidewalks,
etc.,
On motion of Commissioner Spaeth the resolution was adopted
as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following
vote was had; Ayes: Pafford, Peters and Spaeth (3) Nays: (0)
Commissioner Morey absent. Acting Mayor approved the resolution and it
Is numbered 610.
The above resolution is recorded in full on Page 283 of Reso-
lution Book Number 2.
Application for license to sell malt and cereal beverages in
M the City of Salina for the balance of 1934 received from:
Fred Anderson, 225 North Fifth Street.

Commissioner Spaeth moved that license be granted by the Board
Of Commissioners. Motion adopted.
Application of W. R. Fisher for a Taxicab Drivers License
received. On motion of Commissioner Peters application granted by
the Board of Commissioners.
The following report in reference to the rezoning of Lot 7 and
part of Lot 8, in Block 6, Beebe's Addition to the City of Salina,
Kansas, this property being known as 516 South Eighth Street, was re-
ceived;
Salina, Kansas, November 3, 1934.
"At a meeting of the Planning Board yesterday, the enclosed
petition was discussed, and the Board was reluctant to recommend the
rezoning of isolated locations and the following motion was made:and
passed:
That the Planning Board recommend that the "B" Zone in Block
6, Beebets Addition be extended to include Lots 3, 41 50 61 7 and 8
of that block, and that lots 2, 3, and 4 on the east side of Eighth
Street opposite these lots also be included in the rezoning."

On motion, action on the above recommendation was deferred.
On motion of Commissioner Peters the Board of Commissioners
adjourned to meet in regular session Wednesday, November 7, 1934.
