On motion of Commissioner Morey the appointments were confirmed
by the Board of Commissioners.
The Firestone Tire and Rubber Company, by Mr. L. H. W. Hall and
LaRue Royce, made appliaction for permission to construct a gasoline
pipe line from a point north of Iron Avenue on Fourth Street to a
location at the southwest corner of Fifth and Walnut Streets, and for
a right-of-way for such pipe line where it crosses or runs in public
streets or parts thereof, as shown by the plans thereof as presented
with such application. Commissioner Peters moved that the applica-
tion be granted and that the City Attorney be instructed to prepare
an ordinance granting such right-of-way subject to such restrictions
and regulations as are necessary and proper to protect the rights of
the public and such persons as may be affected thereby. Motion seconded
by Commissioner Morey. Carried,
Commissioner Spaeth moved that the request for the construction
of a sanitary sewer in certain lots in Blocks 5 and 6, Leavenworth
Addition to the City of Salina be granted. Motion adopted.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An
ordinance creating and defining a certain lateral sanitary sewer
district in the City of Salina designated as lateral sewer district
No. 170, providing for the construction of a lateral sanitary sewer
In such district and for the cost thereof and for the levying of
special assessments against the property in such district for the
payment of such cost, and for the issuing of bonds therefor."

to the Board of Commissioners.
