Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners August 27,
1934. I,eeting was called to order by t+iayor Stevenson, the roll was
called and Commissioners Stevenson, Morey and Spaeth and City Attorney
Norris responded. Commissioners Pafford and Peters absent.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of Aur-,,ust 20th, 1934;
and Regular Meeting of August 27, 1934 were read and approved as read.
An ordinance was introduced for second readinE entitled: "An
ordinance creating and defining a certain lateral sanitary sewer dis-
trict in the City of Salina designated as Lateral Sewer District No.
169, providing for the construction of a lateral sanitary sewer in such
district and for the cost thereof and for the levying of special assess-
ments against the property in such district for the payment of such cost,
i and for the issuing of bonds therefor."
Onmotion of Commissioner Spaeth the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final eoption the roll was called and
the following vote was had; Ayes: Stevenson, Morey and Spaeth (3)
Na ys: (0) Commissioners Pafford and Peters absent. The Mayor approved
the ordinance and it is numbered 4458.
application for license to sell malt and cereal beverages
in the City of Salina for the last half of 1934 received from:
Hazel Funk (Keg Inn) 720 North Santa Fe Avenue.

Commissioner Spaeth moved that license be granted. Motion
1 adopted.
Application for license to operate a Pool Hall in the City of
Salina for the last half of 1934 received from:

John Gordon
Station Smoker,
Commissioner Spaeth moved that license be granted. Motion
adopted.
Sign Application No. 123 asking for the erection of a sign
above front entrance to building located at 201 South Santa Fe Avenue
received from Central Labor Union. On motion, same was approved by
the Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance amending Ordinance No. 3188, being an ordinance dividing
the City of Salina into zones or districts and regulating and restrict-
ing the location of trades and industries, etc., and the uses of land
in each of such districts or zones and defining an additional Commercial
zone."
On motion of Commissioner Morey ordinance was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An
ordinance vacating a certain alley in the City of Salina, Kansas."
Onmotion of Commissioner Spaeth ordinance; was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
On motion of Commissioner Morey the Board of Commissioners
adjourned.
City Clerk
