T,,eeting was called to order by Piayor Stevenson, the roll was { called and Commissioners Stevenson, T;iorey, Pafford and Spaeth and I City Attorney Norris responded. Commissioner Peters absent. The minutes of the Regular ,,Ieeting of August 6, 1934, were read and approved as read. An. ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance providing for and authorizing the appropriation of a certain amount from the Sewer Fund to the 'eaterworks Fund, to take up and pay temporary notes issued in payment of certain sewer work, and which were purchased by and held in the Sinking Fund, or investment Account of the 1.4aterworks Depart- ' ment." c F On motion of Commissioner Spaeth the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Stevenson, Morey, Pafford, j and Spaeth (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Peters absent. Mayor ap- proved the ordinance and it is numbered 4452. �I An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance amending Section 16, Section 19 and Section 22 of Ordinance Number 2948 being an ordinance relating to taxicabs and regulating the conveyance of passengers for hire in the City of Salina, and pro- viding for the licensing of taxicabs and the drivers thereof, and re- pealing said original sections." On motion of Commissioner Pafford the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Stevenson, Morey, Pafford and Spaeth (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Peters absent. Motion adopted. pl y Application for license to sell malt and cereal beverages in the City of Salina for the last six months of 1934 received from: "A"EVLR�LG�' JEA �L; ita LICE - Serrault L, '.Vary, Fourth and ':walnut Streets. Commissioner Spaeth moved that application be rejected by the Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted. City Engineer submitted Extra Bill for material furnished and labor performed in the construction of sidewalk and overhaul on Job Number 79, Public 'corks Administration Docket Number 4928, Ninth Street Re -Paving, under contract dated May 3, 1934. Commissioner PVTorey moved that Extra Bill above mentioned be approved by the Board of Commissioners, and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Stevenson, Morey, Pafford and Spaeth (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Peters absent. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance levying special assessments against certain property to pay the cost of cutting weeds on certain lots and parts of lots and the parkways abutting thereon in the City of Salina." On motion of Commissioner Spaeth same was referred to the Board of Commissioners. On motion of Commissioner Jhliorey the Board of Commissioners adjourned to meet August 14, 1934 at 7:30 P.
