I;Ieeting was called to order by Mayor Stevenson, the roll was called and Commissioners Stevenson, Morey, Peters and Spaeth and City Attorney Norris responded. Commissioner Pafford absent. " An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: An An relating to and apportioning and levying special assess- ments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of Salina to pay the cost of curbs utters ng, guttering and paving Columbia Avenue from the north line of Ash Street to the south line of Elm Street in the City of Salina, Kansas, and relating to and providing for the collection and payment of such assessments." On motion of Commissioner Morey the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Stevenson, Morey, Peters and Spaeth (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Pafford absent. mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 4434. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special assessments on cer Iain lots and pieces of ground in the City of Salina to pay the cost of curbing, guttering and paving University Place from the east line of Baker Street to the west line of Twelfth Street in the City of Salina, Kansas, and relating to and providing for the collection and payment of such assessments." Onmotion of Commissioner Morey the ordinance was read and ' adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Stevenson, Morey, Peters and Spaeth (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Pafford absent. Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 4435. City Engineer submitted Final Estimate of Cost for excavat- ing, and re -paving Ninth Street from the south line of Ash Street to the south line of North Street (except railroad crossings and waterworks paving). On motion of Commissioner Peters same was approved by the Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted. i` City Engineer submitted Final Estimate of Cost for ! excavating and re -curbing Ninth Street from the north line of Bishop Street and Pine Street to the south line of North Street (extended west of Ninth Street). Onimtion of Commissioner Peters same was approved by the Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted. i City Engineer submitted Final Estimate of Cost of Standard five row precast Reinforced Concrete Railroad Crossings from the north line of Bishop Street to the south line of North Street (extend- ed west of Ninth Street. On motion of Commissioner'Peters same. was approved by the Board of Commissioners. Notion adopted. City Engineer submitted Final Estimate of Cost of sidewalk construction on the south side of Crawford Avenue from the east line of Sherman Street to the east curb line of Hancock Street, as provided by Ordinance No, 4413. On motion of Commissioner Korey same was approved by the Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted. i An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special assessments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of Salina to pay the cost of re -curbing Ninth Street from the south line of Bishop Street to the south line of North Street (west of North Street) in the City of Salina, Kansas, and elating to and providing for the collection and payment of such assessments." Onmotion of Commissioner Peters same was referred to the Board of Commissioners. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special assess- ments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of Salina to pay the cost of re -paving Ninth Street from the south line of Ash Street to the south line of North Street (west of Ninth Street) in the City of Salina, Kansas, and assessing against certain railroad compan- ies the cost of constructing railroad crossings across said street, and relating to and providing for the collection and payment of such assessments. Onrmtion of Commissioner Spaeth same was referred to the Board of Commissioners. 1 1 I I An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance levying special assessments against certain property in the City Of Salina to pay the cost of constructing certain sidevialks in the City of Salina, Kansas." Onmotion of Commissioner Morey same was referred to the Board Of Commissioners. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance levying special assessments against certain property to pay the cost of constructing certain water service pipes in certain streets in the City of Salina, Kansas." On motion of Commissioner Peters same was referred to the Board of Commissioners. On motion of Commissioner Peters the Board of Commissioners adjourned to meet in Regular Session July 20th, 1934.
