Meeting was called to order by Mayor Stevenson, the roll was called and Commissioners Stevenson, Morey, Pafford, Peters and Spaeth and City nttorney Norris responded. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of July 9th, 1934 were read and approved as read. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriation for the payment of certain claims." On motion of Commissioner Spaeth the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Stevenson, Morey, Pafford, Peters and Spaeth (5) Nays: (0) :payor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 4432. The following claims to be paid from Relief Highway Fund i were presented for payment: i Leidigh & Havens Lumber Co. I On motion of Commissioner Peters the ordinance was read and I adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Stevenson, Morey, Pafford, Peters and Spaeth (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 4433. I City Engineer submitted Final Estimate of Cost for excavating, curbing, guttering and paving Columbia Avenue from the north line of Ash SPreet to the south line of Elm Street, Commissioner Spaeth moved'that same be approved by the Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted. City Engineer submitted Final Estimate of Cost for the excavating, curbing, guttering and paving University Place from the west line of Twelfth Street to the east line of Baker Street. Com- missioner S;Daeth moved that same be approved by the Board of Commis- sioners. Motion adopted. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "A n ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special assessments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of Salina to pay the cost of curbing, guttering and paving Columbia Avenue from the north line of Ash Stree t to the south line of Elm Street in the City of Salina, Kansas, and relating to and providing for the collection and payment of such assessments." On motion of Commissioner Morey same was referred to the Board of Commissioners. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special assess- ments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of Salina to pay the cost of curbing, E_,uttering and paving University Place from the east line of Baker Street to the gest line of Twelfth Street in the City of Salina, Kansas, and relating to and providing for the collection and payment of such assessments.' 1 1 1 1 j I On motion of Commissioners Peters same was referred to the Board of Commissioners. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance providing that certain tracts of land which adjoin the present limits of the City of Salina, Kansas be added to, taken i into and made parts of the City of Salina; extending the limits of said City to include said added land; defining the corporate limits of said Cl-ty as extended and repealing all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with this ordinance." On motion of Commissioner Peters same was referred to the Board of Commissioners. Plans and specifications for the erection of a combined E'ara`;e and storage building for the Waterworks Department, was presented. Commissioner Morey moved that same be approved by the Board of Commissioners and the City Manager was instructed to advertise for bids for such building to be received up to and includ- ing Prionday, July 23rd, 1934 at 5:00 P. M. Motion adopted. City Clerk was instructed to advertise for the sale of Sewer Bonds in the amount of $47,102.18 dated August 1, 1934, drawing interes t at the rate of 3-1/2% per annum, payable approximate- ly 1/10th each year. Bids to be received up to and including Ivionday, Jule 23rd, 1934 at 4:00 P. 1,1. On motion of Commissioner Pafford the Board of Commissioners adjourned, to meet in Regular Session July 19th, 1934.
