Meeting was called to order by Mayor Stevenson, the roll was called j and Commissioners Stevenson, Morey, Pafford, Peters and Spaeth and City Attorney Norris responded. i The minutes of the Regular Meeting of May 14th, 1934, were read and approved as read. The following claim to be paid from Public Norks Administration Docket No. 2928 "Force Account Fund" was presented for payment: 1 Chas. E. Banker, City Clerk, Pay Roll Number 24 $140.18 Commissioner Pafford moved that claim be approved by the i Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted. I An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriation for the payment of Pay Roll Number 24, Public Works Administration Docket Number 2928, Force Account Fund." I On motion of Commissioner Peters the ordinance was read and adopted by'seetions and on its final adoption the roll was called and ' the following vote was had; Ayes: Stevenson, Morey, Pafford, Peters and Spaeth (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 4408. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriation for the payment of certain claims." I On motion of Commissioner Spaeth the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Stevenson, Morey, Pafford, Peters and Spaeth (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 4409. Motion adopted. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriation from the Relief Highway Fund for the payment of certain claims." An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriation for the payment of miscellaneous claims from Public Works Administration Docket No. 2928, Force Account Fund." An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance authorizing j the appropriation and transfer of certain money from the Waterworks Department Fund to the Public Works Administration Docket Number 2928 Force Account Fund." Application for license to sell malt and cereal beverages in the City of Salina received as follows: i Retail Class "Ar' Malt and Cereal Beverage License _ E. E. Kathary Cafe, 505 North Ninth Street. j Commissioner Spaeth moved that applications be approved by the Board of Commissioners. Motion carried. Trust Deed, with a deposit of $100.00 received from Leslie C. Gray, for perpetual care of Lot Number 47, Block C, in the Gypsum Hill Ceme- tery of Salina, Kansas. On motion of Commissioner Morey same was accepted by the Board of y Commissioners and the City Treasurer was instructed to place the same in the Gypsum Hill Cemetery Endowment Fund as provided by Ordinance Num- ber 3530 of the City of Salina. Motion adopted. Bids for concession privileges in Oakdale Park for the swimming season of 1934 received as follows: Mrs. Bernard Collister, $125.00 Kenneth Hancock, 4100.00 Louis Hutchins, 10% of gross receipts with guarantee of not less than X1.00 per day. S. D. Benney, - 85.00 L. B. Shelley, 90.00 Commissioner Pafford moved that concession privileges in Oakdale Park for the swimming season of 1934 be awarded to the highest bidder, Mrs.' Bernard Collister. Motion adopted. The following communication was received from the Board of Public Works Salina, Kansas, May 17, 1934. To the Board of Commissioners, City of Salina, Kansas. Gentlemen: The Board of Public Works at a meeting held at 1:15 today, have approved the Twelfth Street cut-off project according to the.plans and specifications of the City Engineer. i Very truly, Chas. Schwartz Chairman. i On motion of Commissioner Peters same was ordered filed. 1 1 7 An ordinance was introduced for first readin6 entitled: "An ordinance providing for and requiring the construction of a concrete sidewalk along the south side of Crawford Avenue in the City of Salina between the east line of Sherman Street and the east line of Hancock Street." On motion of Commissioner Spaeth the ordinance was referred to the Board of Commissioners. Mayor Stevenson appointed F S. Dyar and C. H. Bren as members of the City Planning Commission for a term of three years from May 1st, 1934, Commissioner Peters moved that appointments be confirmed by the Board of Commissioners. notion adopted.
