Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners May 14, 1934.
Meeting was called to order by Mayor Stevenson, the roll was called
and Commissioners Stevenson, Morey, Pafford, Peters and Spaeth and
City Attorney Norris responded.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of May 7, 1934, were read
and approved as read.
The following claim to be paid from Public Works Administra-
tion Docket No. 2928, Force Account Fund" was presented for payment:

Chas. E. Banker, City Clerk, Pay Rolls 21-22-23 X784.94
Commissioner Morey moved that claim be approved by the Board
{ of Commissioners. Motion carried.
j An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making
an appropriation for the payment of Pay Rolls numbered 21-22 and 23,
from Public Works Administration Docket Number 2928 Force Account
Fund." '

On motion of Commissioner Peters the ordinance was read and
adopted by s ections and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the following vote was had; Ayes. Stevenson, Morey, Pafford,
Peters and Spaeth (5) Nays: (O} The Mayor approved the ordinance
and it is numbered 4406.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled:
"An ordinance ratifying and confirming a contract for the re -paving of
Ninth Street from the south line of Ash Street to the south line of
North Street (west of Ninth Street); the recurbing of Ninth Street
from the south line of Bishop Street to the south line of North Street
(west of Ninth Street); the construction of precast concrete railroad
crossings across Ninth Street between the south line of Bishop Street
and south line of North Street (west of Ninth Street); the curbing,
guttering and paving of Columbia Avenue from the north line of Ash
Street to the south line of Elm Street, and of University Place from
the east line of Baker Street to the west line of Twelfth Street."
On motion of Commissioner Peters the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and
the following vote was had; Ayes: Stevenson, Morey, Pafford, Peters and
Spae th (5) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the ordinance and it is num-
bered 4407.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An
ordinance relating to and regulating the parking of gasoline tank trucks upon
and the transportation or the driving of such trucks along and over the
public streets and alleys within the City of Salina; relating to and
regulating the storage and keeping of such trucks within the City of
Salina; prohibiting the withdrawal of gasoline from such trucks while
upon the public streets and alleys of said City and relating to and
regulating the types of connections to be used in transferring gasoline
from gasoline tank trucks to storage tanks within the City of Salina;
and providing for the penalty of the violation of this ordinance."
On motion of Commissioner Pafford the ordinance was referred
to the Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An
ordinance relating to and regulating the storage of gasoline, petroleum,
distillate, crude oil, fuel oil, and other like inflamm able volatile
oil or substances within the City of Salina; and relating to and regulat-
ing the location, construction and maintenance of tanks used for the
storage of any such substances and the vents, valves and other appurtenances
used in connection with such tanks and providing for the penalty of the
violation of this ordinance and repealing certain ordinances or parts of
ordinances in conflict with this ordinance."
On motion of Commissioner Hlorey the ordinance was referred to
the Board of Commissioners.
A petition was presented asking for the installation of a
White Way on Sunset Drive from Ninth Street to Highland Circle.
On motion, same was referred to the City Manager.
A communication was received from Travelers Mutual Casualty i
Company, notifying the City of Salina of the cancellation of Policy
Number 8667-D issued to DeLuxe Cab Company, effective May 24, 1934.
On motion of Commissioner Pafford the City Clerk was instructed to
notify the DeLuxe Cab Company of such cancellation.
Application for license to sell malt and cereal beverages
in the City of Salina received from:

Commissioner Spaeth moved that application be approved by the
Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted.
On motion of Commissioner Peters the Board of Commissioners
adjourned.
