Meeting was called to order by Mayor Stevenson, the roll was called and Commissioners Stevenson, Morey, Pafford, Peters and Spaeth and City Attorney Norris responded. Bids were received for the: Repaving and recurbing of Ninth Street from the south line of Ash Street to the south line of North Street extended west from Ninth Street; Construction of railroad crossings on Ninth Street from south line of Bishop Street to the south line of North Street extended west from Ninth Street; Waving Columbia Avenue from the north line of Ash Street to the south line of Elm Street; and Paving University Place from the east line of Baker Street to the west line of Twelfth Street, as follows: Geiger & Rutherford, Leavenworth, Kansas. M. W. Watson, Topeka, Kansas. H. J. Taylor Construction Company, Salina, Kansas. City Engineers estimate of cost for the above named improve- ments was read. All bids were tabulated by the City Engineer. Commissioner Pafford moved that the contract for construction of Sections 1, 2 and 3, using Concrete Paving on Section 1, be awarded to H. J. Taylor Construction Company as per proposal this day submitted, subject to approval of State Engineer of Public Works Administration, and that checks be returned to unsuccessful bidders, and that the Mayor be authorized to sign the contract on behalf of the City for such im- provements in accordance with such proposal and the form of contract and specifications attached thereto and referred to therein. Motion adopted by the following vote: Ayes: Stevenson, Morey, Pafford, Peters and Spaeth (5) Nays: (0) Onrmtion of Commissioner Morey the Board of Commissioners adjourned. City Clerk
