Meeting was called to order by Mayor Stevenson, the roll was called and Commiss ioners Stevenson, Morey, Pafford, Peters and Spaeth and City Attorney Norris responded. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of April 23, 1934, were read and approved as read. The following claim to be paid from Public Works Administra- tion Docket Number 2928, "Force Account Fund" was presented for pay- ment: Chas. E. Banker, City Clerk, Pay Rolls No. 15-16-17 X1183.97 Commissioner'Spaeth moved that claim be approved by the Board of Commissioners. Motion carried unanimously. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriation for the payment of Pay Rolls numbered 15-16 and 17, from Public Works Administration Docket Number 2928, "Force Account Fund." On motion of Commissioner Pafford the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was tailed and the following vote was hadAyes: Stevenson, Morey, Pafford, Peters and Spaeth (5) Nays: (Oi The Mayor approved the same and it is numbered 4396. The following claim to be paid from Relief Highway Fund, was presented for payment: Chas. E. Banker, City Clerk, Cash paid out for labor - - -X385.29 Commissioner Spaeth moved that claim be approved by the Board of Commissioners. Motion carried unanimously. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriation from the Relief Highway Fund for the payment of a certain claim." On motion of Commissioner Peters the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adotpion the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Stevenson, Morey, Pafford, Peters and Spaeth (5) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the same and it is numbered 4397. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriation for the payment of certain claims." i On motion of Commissioner Morey the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Stevenson, Morey, Pafford, Peters and Spaeth (5) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the same and it is numbered 4398. A petition was presented asking for the construction of a sidewalk on the south side of Crawford Avenue from Sherman Street to Hancock Street. On motion, same was referred to the City Manager. Application for license to sell malt and cereal beverages in the City of Salina, Kansas, received from: Class "B" Retail Malt and Cereal Beverage Dealers License E. Z..SlauShter, 113 South Seventh Street j Burt's Cafe 111 Vilest Ash Street On motion of Commissioner Spaeth applications were approved by the Board of Commissioners. Sign Application Number 117, asking for the erection of a temporary cloth sign on front of building located at 115 West Iron Avenue received from Burnham Furniture Company. On motion of Commission- i er Morey the application was approved by the Board of Commissioners. F - Release of Plumbers Bond for Victor E. Olson as Principal., and Continental Casualty Company as Surety., effective April 16th., 1934 was received. Commissioner Morey moved that the Mayor be authorized to sign said release on behalf of the City of Salina. Motion carried, Taxicab Policy Number 8667-D., issued by Travelers Mutual Casualty Company, for taxicabs owned and operated by DeLuxe Cab Company, was received and referred to the City Attorney. The following application for taxicab license for the year 1934 with Liability Insurance Policy covering the vehicle described in the application was presented for approval, with the Certificate of the License Inspector showing the approval of the condition of said taxicab: License Number 14 for Willys Knight, Serial No. 70891176, Motor Number 98016, to DeLuxe Cab Company,, Operator and Ralph E. Chapel, Owner, covered by Liability Insurance Policy Number 35815 issued by Central Mutual Insurance Company, expiring April 21, 1935. On motion,, the above mentioned application and the insurance Policy were referred to the City Attorney.
