MARCH 5, 1934. i Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners March 5 1934 Meeting was called to order by Mayor Stevenson, the roll was called and Commissioners Stevenson, Morey, Pafford, Peters and Spaeth and City Attorney Norris responded. i The minutes of the Regular Meeting ng of February 26, 1934, E were read and approved as read. ' Commissioner Pafford moved that a special permit be granted to H. Grethen for the erection of a Marble Works Building on Lot 2, Block 7, Pacific Addition (Southwest ( h est corner of Santa Fe and Pacific) Motion adopted. i An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriation for the payment of certain claims." j On motion of Commissioner Spaeth the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and i the following vote was had* Ayes: Stevenson, Morey, Pafford, Peters and Spaeth 5) Nays: (01 Mayor approved the same and is numbered 4370. j The following claim was presented for payment: Chas. E. Banker,Cit Clerk Cash y , paid out for labor (Relief Highway Fund) - - $25.50 On motion of Commissioner Morey the claim was approved by the Board of Commissioners and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; d4?S : St—P—rsor, Morey. Pafford, Peters and Spaeth (5) Nays: (01 An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an i appropriation from the Relief Highway Fund for the payment of a certain claim. On motion of Commissioner Peters the ordinance was read and j adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Stevenson, Morey, Pafford, Peters i and Spaeth (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the same and it is numbered 4371. i The following claim was presented for payment: Hull Electric Company, Material & labor for reconstruction of pumping station of the Waterworks pumping station system of the City of Salina, - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -$447.07 On motion of Commissioner Spaeth the claim was approved by the Board of Commissioners and on its final adoption the roll was called j and the following vote was had; Ayes: Stevenson, Morey, Pafford, A Peters and Spaeth (5) Nays: (0) I An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making I an appropriation for the payment of a certain claim from the Public Works Administration Docket No. 2739 Force Account Fund." On motion of Commissioner Peters the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and j the following vote was had; Ayes: Stevenson, Morey, Pafford, Peters and Spaeth (5) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the same and it is num- bered 4372. i The following claim was presented fog --payment: j Johnson Bros, Construction Co., Estimate Number 3 for the General Contract for reconstruc- tion ofum i p p ng station of the Waterworks system of the City i of Salina - - - -- - - - -$3561.49 On motion of Commissioner Morey the claim was approved by the Board of Commissioners and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Stevenson, Morey, Pafford, Peters and Spaeth (5) Nays: (0) I An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriation for the payment of a certain claim from the Public Works Administration Docket No. 2739 Contract Account Fund." On motion of Commissioner Pafford the ordinance was read and i adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and j the following vote was had; Ayes: Stevenson, Morey, Pafford, Peters and Spaeth (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the same and is numbered I 4373. City Engineer submitted Estimate Number 2 to H. J. Taylor Construction Company for the construction of Storm Sewer No. 9-A, under contract dated October 26, 1933. t I f On motion of Commissioner Peters estimate was approved by the Board of Commissioners and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Stevenson, Morey, Pafford, Peters and Spaeth (5) Nays: (0) An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriation for the pa went of a certain claim." j I On motion of Commissioner Spaeth the ordinance was read and Commissioner adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the followin vote was had* Ayes: Stevenson, Morey, Pafford, Peters and Spaeth 5) Nays: (0� Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 4374. 5 An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An -ordinance making j an appropriation from the funds of the Water Department for the pur- chase of a temporary note of the City of Salina." On motion of Commissioner Spaeth the ordinance was read 1 and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had: Ayes: Stevenson, Morey, Pafford, Peters and Spaeth (5) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the same and it is numbered 4375. i I Application for Pool Hall License for the first six months of 1934 received from the Lamer Pool Nall, and on motion of Commission- er Morey same was approved by the Board of Commissioners. i Application for license to sell malt and cereal beverages in the City of Sa lina for the first six months of 1934 received as follows: I Class "A" Retail Malt o� Cereal Beverage License -- Myers Market ##1, 215 West Iron Avenue. On motion of Commissioner Pafford application was approved j by the Board of Commissioners* i i On motion of Commissioner Peters the Board of Commissioners adjourned. City Clerk I
