01-29-1934 MinutesCOMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING. COMMISSIONERS ROOM, SALINA, KANSAS. JANUARY 29, 1934. Regular meeting_of the Board of Commissioners January 29 1934. Meeting was called to order by Acting Mayor Pafford, the roll was called and Commissioners Morey, Pafford, Peters and Spaeth and 1 City Attorney Norris responded. Commissioner Stevenson absent. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of January 22', 1934, were j read and approved as read. The following claim was presented for payment: Pay Rolls No. 6 and 7, under project known as Public Works A dministration Docket No. 2928, relating to the construction of water mains in Walnut Street - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -$1,238.07 Commissioner Morey moved that claim be allowed by the Board of Commissioners and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Morey, Pafford„ Peters and Spaeth (4) Nays : (0) Cotm isslyoner Stevenson absent. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriation for the payment of Payroll No. 6 and Payroll No, 7 Public Works Administration Docket No, 2928 Force Account Fund." On motion of Commissioner Spaeth the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Morey, Pafford, Peters and Spaeth (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Stevenson absent. Acting Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 4358. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance vacating a portion of the north side of Republic Avenue between the west line of Ninth Street and the east line of the Missouri Pacific Railroad Right-of-way." On motion of Commissioner Morey the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Morey, Pafford, Peters and Spaeth (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Stevenson absent. Acting Mayor ap- proved the same and is numbered 4359. i A Resolution was introduced entitled: "A Resolution approv- Ing a certain Grant Agreement between the City of Salina Kansas, and the United States of America, known as Public Works Idministra- tion Docket No. 3980 relating to the construction of certain proposed improvementa!to the storm sewer system of the City of Salina, and authorizing the Mayor and City Clerk to exeaute-and attest the execu- tion of said agreement." On motion of Commissioner Morey the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the follow - Ing vote was had; Ayes: Morey, Pafford, Peters and Spaeth (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Stevenson absent. Acting Mayor approved the res olution and it is numbered 599. The above resolution is recorded in full on Pages 265 and266 of Resolution Book Number 2. j Application for license to sell malt and cereal beverages for the first six months of 1934 received as follows: i Class "A" Retail Beverage Dealers License ; Sunflower Barbecue Stand, 731 North Santa Fe Avenue Class "B" Retail Beverase Dealers License I Coffee Cup Cafe, 114 West Ash Street The Smoker, 129 North Santa Fe Agenue. On motion of Commissioner Morey the above applications were approved by the Board of Oommissoners-. Applications for eleven taxicab licenses for the year 1934 received from the DeLuxe Cab Company.
