JANUARY 22, 1934.
Regular meeting of the Board ° of Commissioners January 22,
1934. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Stevenson, the roll was
called and Commissioners Stevenson, Morey, Pafford, Peters and Spaeth
and City Attorney Norris responded.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of January 15, 1934 and

Regular Meeting of January 17, 1934, were read and approved as read.
The following claim was presented for payment:
Payrolls No. 4 and -5, under project -known
as Public Administration, Docket No. 2928,
relating to the construction of water mains

Commissioner Pafford moved that claims be allowed by the
Board of Commissioners and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the following vote was had* Ayes: Stevenson, Morey, Pafford,

An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making
an appropriation''for the payment of Payroll No. 4 and Payroll No. 5,
Public Works Administration Docket No, 2928, Force Account Fund.
j On motion of Commissioner Morey the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and
the following vote was had; Ayes: Stevenson, Morey, Pafford, Peters
and Spaeth (5) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the same and is num-
bered 4356.

An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled:
"An ordinance amending Ordinance No. 3188 relating to zones and die-
tricts in the City of Salina."
On motion of Commissioner -Peters the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and
the following vote was had; Ayes: Stevenson, Morey, Pafford, Peters
and Spaeth (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the same and is numbered
s 4357.
A resolution was introduced entitled: "A Resolution re-
lating to the furnishing of a Right-of-way- to the State Highway Commis-
sion for a channel for Dry Creek in connection with Project No. 40S -16-
NRM, 374, Section Fl and P2 -relating -to -the Improvements of State Street
and the Stlate Street Highway; and providing for and indemnifying the
State Highway Commission against damages in connection with the use of
the Right -of -Way for a new channel for Dry Creek and providing for and
indemnifying the contractor having the contract for such work against
damages occasioned by delay in securing such right-of-way."
On motion of Commissioner Pafford the msolution was adopted
as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following
vote was had; Ayes: Stevenson, Korey, Pafford, Peters and Spaeth (5)
Nays: (0) Mayor approved the same and is numbered 598.
The above resolution is recorded in full on Pages 263 and
264 of Resolution Book Number 2.
The following applications for license to sell malt and
cereal beverages for the first half of 1934 received as follows:

On motion of -Commissioner Spaeth the foregoing applications
were approved by the Board of Commissioners and the City Clerk was in-
structed to issue license for same. Motion adopted.
Sign Application No. 108 asking for permission to erect a
sign on front of building occupied by Superior Food Market at 103
North Seventh Street wasieceived, and on motion of Commissioner Morey
same was approved by the Board of Commissioners.
Commissioner Morey moved that the Waterworks Department be
authorized to sell to the United Life Insurance Company Bond No. 3
in the amount of $2300000 at par and accrued interest. Motion carried.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled•
"An ordinance vacating a portion of the north side of Republic Aienue
between,the west line of Ninth Street and the east line of the Mis-
souri Pacific Railroad Right-of-way."
On motion of Commissioner Peters same wasreferred to the
Board of Commissioners.
On motion of Commissioner Spaeth the Board of Commissioners
adjourned.
