01-15-1934 MinutesCOMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING. COMMISSIONERS ROOM, SALINAS KANSAS. JANUARY 15, 1934. Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners January 15, 1934. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Stevenson, the roll was i called and Commissioners Stevenson, Morey, Pafford, Peters and Spaeth and City Attorney Norris responded. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of January 8th, 1934 and Regular Meeting of January 10th, 1934 were read and approved as read. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriation for the payment of certain claims." On motion of Commissioner Morey the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and i the following vote was had tt• Ayes: Stevenson, Morey, Pafford, Peters and Spaeth (5) Nays: (01 Mayor, approved the same and it is num- bered 4380. The following claims for material used in the construction of water mains in Walnut Street were presented:(Docket Num,er 2928) National Cast Iron Pipe Company, X4,116.74 The Ludlow Valve Mfg. Company 19175.48 Commissioner Spaeth moved that claims be allowed by the Board of Commissioners and on its final adoption the roll was called and the followsnr�$ vote was had; Ayes: Stevenson, Morey, Pafford, Peters and Spaeth (5) Nays: (0) An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an approoriation for the payment of miscellaneous claims from Public Works Administration Docket No. 2928, Force Account Fund." 1 i On motion of Commissioner Spaeth the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its finaladoption the roll was called and i the following vote was had a• Ayes: Stevenson, Morey, Pafford, Peters and Spaeth (5) Nays: (OJ Mayor approved the same and it is numbered 435]x. (See next page for Ordinance Number 4352) The following claim was presented for . payment: Pay Rolls No. 2 and No. 3, under project known as Public Works Administration Docket No. 2928, relating to the construction of water mains in Walnut Street - - - - - - -$1196.40 Commissioner Pafford moved that claims be allowed by the Board J of Commissioners and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Stevenson, Morey, Pafford, Peters and Spaeth (5) Nays: (0) i i An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriation for the payment of Payroll No. 2 and Payroll No. 3, Public Works Administration Docket No. 2928. I On motion of Commissioner Peters the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Stevenson, Morey, Pafford, Peters and Spaeth (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the same and it is numbered 4353. A resolution was introduced entitled: "A Resolution approving a certain Grant Agreement between the Cjty of Salina, and the U ited j States of America, known as Public Works Administration Docket No. 2928 relating to the construction of certain proposed improvements to the water distribution system of the City of Salina and authorizing the Mayas and City Clerk to execute and attest the execution of said agreement." i On motion of Commissioner Peters the resolution was adopted an read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had* Ayes: Stevenson, Morey, Pafford, Pggters and Spaeth (5) Nays: 10) Mayor approved the same and it ill numbered 596. The above resolution is recorded in full on Pages numbered 259 and 260 of Resolution Book Number 2. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An"ordinance amending Ordinance No. 3188 relating to zones and districts in the 4ty of Salina." On motion of Commissioner Pafford same was referred to the Board of Commissioners. j An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance ratifying and confirming a contract for the construction of Storm Sewer No. 9-A in the City of Salina, Kansas. i On motion of Commissioner Morey same was referred to the Board of Commissioners. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance_ ratifying and confirming a contract for the construction of Storm Sewer No. 9-B in the 4ty of Salina, Kansas*" On motion of Commissioner Spaeth same was referred to the Board of Commissioners. Mayor Stevenson submitted the name of C. H. Qawthrop as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Salina Municipal Band for a term of three gears from January 1st, 1934; and on motion of C mmis- sioner Morey the appointment was confirmed by the Board of CoiEssion- ers. Mayor Stevenson submitted the name of Fred D. Kastner and Raymond C. aebhart as members of the Waterworks Advisory Board for a term of three years from January 1st, 1934; and on motion of C m- missioner Pafford the appointments were confirmed by the Board o? Commissioners. Mayor Stevenson submitted the name of H. D. Miller and Theo. P.
