COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING.
COMMISSIONERS ROOM,
SALINA, KANSAS.
DECEMBER 30, 1935.
Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners, December
309 1935. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Peters,, the roll was
called and Commissioners Peters, Jackson, Mitchell, Morgenstern and
Surface and City Attorney Norris responded.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of December 23, 1935
and December 27, 1935 were read and approved as read.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance
making an appropriation for the payment of certain claims."
On motion of Commissioner Morgenstern the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called
and thefollwoing vote was had; Ayes- Peters, Jackson, Mitchell,
Morgenstern and Surface (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance
and it is numbered 4596.
The following claims to be paid from Relief Highway Fund were
presented for payment:
Chas. E. Banker, City Clerk, Cash paid out for labor $235.05
T. A. Williams, Hauling and placing concrete
f pipe on East Jewell 60.00

Commissioner Surface moved that claims be approved by the
Board of Commissioners*
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an
appropriation from the Relief Highway Fund for the payment of certain
claims,
On motion of Commissioner Jackson the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the following vote was had; Ayes: Peters, Jackson, Mitchell,
Morgenstern and Surface (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance
and it is numbered 4597.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance
appropriating and transferring a certain amount of money from the
General Fund (Administration & Finance Department) to the General
Fund (Building Department)."
On motion of Commissioner Surface the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the following vote was had; Ayes: Peters, Jackson, Mitchell,
Morgenstern and Surface (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance I
and it is numbered 4598.
1 An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled:
"An ordinance relating to and providing for the carrying of life
Insurance on and the purchase of life insurance policies for members
of the Salina Fire Department and for the payment of premiums on such
policies out of the funds of the Firemen's Relief Association and
for the disposition of the proceeds of such policies."

On motion of Commissioner Surface the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and
the following vote was had; Aes: Peters, Jackson, Mitchell, Morgen-
stern and Surface (5) Nays: 10) Mayor approved the ordinance and it
is numbered 4599. j
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An
ordinance prohibiting electrical interferences with radio reception
and providing for punishment for the violation thereof." Same was
referred to the Board of Commissioners.
A petition was presented asking for the graveling of Third
Street from Prescott Avenue to Crawford Avenue. Same was referred to
the City Manager and City Engineer.

A petitionwas presented protesting against the licensing of
individual plumbers. Same was ordered filed.
On motion of Commissioner Surface the Board of Commissioners
adjourned*
