COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING.
COMMISSIONERS ROOM,
SALINA , KANSAS.

Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners December 16,
1935. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Peters, the roll was called
and Commissioners Peters, Jackson, Mitchell, Morgenstern and Surface
and City Attorney Norris responded,

were read and approved as read.

An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an
appropriation for the payment of certain claims."
On motion of Commissioner Morgenstern the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called
j and the following vote was had; Ayer: Peters, Jackson, Mitchell,
Morgenstern and Surface (5) Nays: 0) Mayor approved the ordinance
and it is numbered 4591.
The following claims to be paid from Relief Highway Fund were:.
presented for payment:

Commissioner Jackson moved that claims be approved by the
Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an
appropriation from the Relief Highway Fund for the payment of certain
claims,
On motion of Commissioner Mitchell the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the following vote was had; Ayes: Peters, Jackson, Mitchell,
Morgenstern and Surface (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance
and it is numbered 4592.

adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the following vote was had; Ayes: Peters, Jackson, Mitchell, Mor-
genstern and Surface (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and
it is numbered 4593. ,
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An
ordinance levying special assessments against certain property to pay
the cost of constructing certain water service pipes in certain streets
in the City of Salina, Kansas."

On motion of Commissioner Jackson the ordinance was read and
I adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and
the following vote was had; Ayes: Peters, Jackson, Mitchell, Morgen-
stern and Surface (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it j
is numbered 4594.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An
ordinance relating to and fixing the salaries and wages of certain
officers and employees of the City of Salina."
On motion of Commissioner Mitchell same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
Taxicab drivers application received from Ed French, and on
motion of Commissioner Jackson same was approved by the Board of Com-
missioners.
Commissioner Jackson moved that taxicab drivers application
presented to the Board of Commissioners November 25, 1935 by Frank A.
Miller be granted. Motion adopted.
Chas. W. Shaver appeared before the Board of Commissioners in
reference to the matter of Licensed Plumbers and the creating of an
Examining Board for such purpose. Commissioner ,Surface moved that the
matter be referred to the City Manager and City Attorney.
