COMMI33IONE RS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING.
COMMISSIONERS ROOM,
SALINA, KANSAS.
NOVEMBER 252 1935.
Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the City of
Salina, Kansas, November 25, 1935. Meeting was called to order by
Mayor Peters, the roll was called and Commissioners Peters, Jackson,
Mitchell and Morgenstern and City Attorney Norris responded.
Commis-sioner Surface absent.
i The minutes of the Regular Meeting of November 18, 1935,
j were read and approved as read.
Commissioner Morgenstern moved that Mrs. W. C. Evans be
granted a special permit to remodel her residence at 120 West Ellsworth
Avenue into a three-family apartment. Motion adopted.
A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A
resolution approving a certain Amendatory Grant Agreement between the
j City of Salina, Saline County, Kansas, and the United States of America
relating to P. W. A. Docket No. 3980, and authorizing the execution
of said contract by the Mayor and City Clerk."

On motion of Commissioner Jackson the resolution was adopted
as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following
vote was had; Ayes: Peters, Jackson, Mitchell and Morgenstern (4)
Nays: (0) Commissioner Surface absent. Mayor approved the resolution
and it is numbered 647.
The Above Resolution is recorded in full on Pages numbered
354 and 355 in Resolution Book Number 2.
A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A
Resolution relating to the construction of certain sidewalks in the
City of Salina.'
On motion of Commissioner Mitchell the resolution was adopted
as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following
vote was had; Ayes: Peters, Jackson, Mitchell and Morgenstern (4)
Nays: (0) Commissioner Surface absent. Mayor approved the resolution
and it is numbered 648.
The above resolution is recorded in full on Pages numbered
356 and 357 and 358 of Resolution Book Number 2.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An
ordinance providing for the issuance of Refunding Bonds of the City
of Salina, Kansas, in the aggregate sum of $72,000.00 for the purpose
of refunding certain outstanding bonds of such City in a like amount,
to be designated as Series R-111." On motion, same was referred
to the Board of Commissioners.
j Chief of Police reported on application received from Ronald
Seitz, asking for license to sell gtalt and cereal beverages in the
City of Salina. Commissioner Morgenstern moved that license be not
granted to Ronald Seitz.
Application for taxicab license for the balance of 1935 received
from Henry Christensen. Commissioner Jackson moved that license be
granted.
Application for taxicab drivers license for the balance of 1935
received from:
Henry Christensen,
Roy E. Fowler
Frank A. Miller.
Commissioner Mitchell moved that taxicab drivers license be
granted to Henry Christensen. Motion adopted.
Commissioner Morgenstern moved that taxicab drivers license be
not granted to Roy E. Fowler. Motion adopted.
Commissioner Jackson moved that taxicab drivers application
received from Frank A. Miller be referred to the Chief of Police for
further investigation. Motion adopted.
Sign Application No. 156, asking for the re -building of
Billboards located on Lot No. 39 in North Front Street was received
from Rogers Poster Service. On motion of Commissioner Jackson same
was approved by the Board of Commissioners.
Sign Application No. 157, asking for the re -building; of
billboard located on the Northeast 50 feet of Lot 1 on East Ash
Street was received from Rogers Poster Service. On motion of Commis-
sioner Jackson same was approved by the Board of Commissioners.
Sign Application No. 158, asking for the re -building of
billboards located on Lots 143 and 145 on Barney Street was received
from Rogers Poster Sertice. On motion of Commissioner Jackson same
was approved by the Board of Commissioners.
Sign Application No. 159, asking for the re -building of
billboards located on Surveyorts Plat eGa on East Elm Street Was
received from Rogers Poster Service. On motion of Commissioner
Jackson same was approved by the Board of Commissioners.
On motion of Commissioner Morgenstern the Board of Commis-
sioners adjourned.
