COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING.
I COMMISSIONERS ROOM,
SALINA, KANSAS.
NOVEMBER 11, 1935.
Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners November 11,
1935. Meeting was called to order by Magor Peters, the roll was called
and Commissioners Peters, Jackson, Mitchell, Morgenstern and Surface
f and City Attorney Norris responded.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of November 4, 1935, were
read and approved as read.
t Contract and Bonds for the erection of elevated Nater
Storage Tank & Tower received from the Chicago Bridge & Iron Works of
Chicago, Illinois. On motion of Commissioner Surface same was ap-
proved by the Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: '"An
ordinance ratifying and confirming a contract for the building and
construction of reinforced concrete foundations for a 10000,000 gallon
water storage tank as provided and authorized by Ordinance No. 4538.'
On motion of Commissioner Jackson the ordinance was read and
adopted by s ections and on its final adoption the roll was called and
I the following vote was had; Ayes.: Peters, Jackson, Mitchell, Morgen-
stern and Surface. (5) Nays; (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and
i it is numbered 4582.

An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An
ordinance ratifying and confirming a contract for the building and
construction of a 1,000,000 gallon elevated water storage tank and tower
as provided and authorized by Ordinance No. 4538."
On motion of Commissioner Morgenstern the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the following vote was had; Aye Peters, Jackson, Mitchell,
Morgenstern and Surface (5) Nays: 0} Mayor approved the ordinance
and it is numbered 4583.

Application for license to sell malt and cereal beverages
in the City of Salina, Kansas for the balance of 1935 received as fol-
lows:
RETAIL CLASS "A" MALT & CEREAL BEVERAGE DEALERS LICENSE
F. E. French, 154 North Santa Fe Avenue
Commissioner Surface moved that application be approved by the
Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted.
A petition was presented from Otto Paugh asking for six
spaces of 30 -minute parking on the west side of Seventh Street between
Mel Applebee garage and Lamb Auto Supply Company. On motion same
was ordered filed.
Commissioner Surface moved that the rezoning of Lots 5 and 7
Block 5, Pacific Addition be approved by the Board of Commissioners, with
the understanding that the Board of Commissioners have the right to
approve type of building and other restrictions.
Request for a permit for Ted E. Cox to construct a garage
on Lots 5 and 72 Block 5 Pacific Addition to the City of Salina was
received. Commissioner Surface moved that the matter be referred
to the City Manager and to the Building Inspector as to set -back. Motion
adopted.
Commissioner Surface moved that the Building Inspector
be authorized to issue a special permit to John S. Gates to remodel his
home at 820 West Walnut Street into a 4 -family apartment. Motion
adopted.
Commissioner Surface moved that the City Manager make a
rental contract for tractor. Motion adopted.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance providing that certain tracts of land which adjoin the
present limits of the City of Salina, Kansas be added to, taken into and
made parts of the City of Salina; extending the limits of said City to
include said added lands; defining the corporate limits of said City as
extended; and repealing all ordinances or parts of ordinances in con-
flict with this ordinance." On motion same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners*
