NOVEMBER 4, 1935.
Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners November 4,
1935. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Peters, the roll was called
and Commissioners Peters, Jackson, Mitchell, Morgenstern and Surface
and City Attorney Norris responded.
The Minutes of the Regular Meeting of October 28, 1935 were
read and approved as read.

I An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an
appropria tion for the payment of certain claims."
On motion of Commissioner Surface the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and
the following vote was had; Ayes, Peters, Jackson, Mitchell, Mor-
genstern and Surface (5) Nays: 0 Mayor approved the ordinance
and it is numbered 4580.
The following claim to be paid from Relief Highway Fund was
presented for payment:
Chas. E. Banker Cit Clerk Cash aid out for labor 352.80

Commissioner Surface moved that claim be approved by the
Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an
appropriation from the Relief Highway bind for the payment of a certain
claim."
On motion of Commissioner Jackson the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and
i the following vote was had; Ayes: Peters, Jackson, Mitchell, Morgen-
stern and Surface (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it
is numbered 4581.
Application for license to sell malt and cereal beverages
in the City of Salina for the balance of 1935 received from:

Commissioner Surface moved that application be approved by the
Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted.

A communication was received from tib. B. McMickle, Manager of
Deluxe Cab Company, in reference to increase in taxi fares. Same was
ordered filed.
The following communication was received from the City
Planning Commission:

Dear Sir:
At a meeting of the Planning and Zoning
Commission held November 1, 1935, two petitions

were considered:
The first one, asking for the rezoning of
j Lot 7, Plat "C" Neelys Addition from "B" residential
to commercial zone, was voted on favorably by the
Committee, and recommended for rezoning.
The second petition, asking for the
rezoning of Lots 1 and 2 Elm Street, Bishop's
Addition from "B" residence to Commercial Zone.
The action of the Committee on this petition
was, that the Planning and Zoning Committee do not
recommend the rezoning of these lots, unless the
balance of the block north to Bishop and bordering
on Ninth Street be likewise rezoned and placed with-
in the fire limits.

Commissioner Surface moved that the City Clerk publish notice
in reference to proposed change in Zoning Ordinance.
The matter of rezoning Lot 9, Block "A"` located at the
southwest corner of Ninth and Walnut Streets was taken up and
acted on by the Board of Commissioners. Commissioner Surface moved
that same be rejected. Motion adopted.
T. R. Johnson and E. 0. Johnson, co-partners d/b/a Johnson
Bros. Construction Company of Salina, Kansas, filed their bond for
footings and foundations for the erection of elevated steel tank and
tower in the City of Salina, Kansas. Commissioner Jackson moved
that the bond be approved by the Board of Commissioners. Motion
adopted.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An
ordinance ratifying and confirming a contract for the building
and construction of reinforced concrete foundations for a 100000000
gallon elevated water storage tank as provided bid authorized by
Ordinance No. 4538.` Same we.s referred to the Board of Com-
missioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An
ordinance ratifying and confirming a contract for the building
and construction of a 1,000,000 gallon elevated water storage tank
and tower as provided and authorized by Ordinance No. 4538.
Same was referred to the Board of Commissioners.
Commissioner Surface moved that the City Manager be authorized
to make the best deal possible to dispose of the dance pavilion in
Kenwood Park. Motion adopted.
On motion of Commissioner Jackson the Board of Commissioners
adjourned.
