08-05-1935 Minutes1 1 1 COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING. COMMISSIONERS ROOM, SALINA, KANSAS. AUGUST 5, 1935. Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners August 5, 1935. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Pafford, the roll. was called and Commissioners Pafford, Peters, Jackson, Mitchell and Surface-and:-Ctty Attorney Norris responded. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of July 29, 1935 were read and approved as read. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriation for the payment of certain claims." On motion of Commissioner Surface the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Pafford, Peters, Jackson, Mitchell and Surface Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is num- bered 4561. The following claim to be paid from Relief Highway Fund was presented for payment: Chas. E. Banker, City Clerk Cash paid out for labor $466.30 Commissioner Jackson moved that claim be approved by the Board of Commissioners. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriation from the Relief Highway Fund for the payment of a certain claim." On motion of Commissioner Mitchell the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Aes: Pafford, Peters, Jackson, Mitchell and Surface (5) Nays: f0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 4562. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance relating to and regulating public dances, public dance halls, and places where public dancing is permitted or carried on, providing for a license tax therefor and repealing Section 1 and Section 2 of Ordinance No. 2414, being Sections 14-301 and 14-302 of Revised Ordinances 1925." On motion, same was referred to the Board of Commissioners. Bids for the construction of pump house to be constructed on the west 159 feet of Lot 1, Neeleyts Addition to the City of Salina, Kansas, received as follows: Alfred Lindgren, $1792.00 Fred Hartley 1843.00 Johnson Bros. 1810.00 A. We Daleen 1779.00 Commissioner Surface moved that contract be awarded to A. W. Daleen as per his bid submitted. Motion adopted. On motion of Commissioner Surface the Board of Commissioners adjourned.
