07-22-1935 Minutes1 u C 1 COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING. C01alISSIONERS ROOM, SALINA, KANSAS. JULY 220 1935. Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners July 22, 1935. P.?eeting was called to order by Mayor Pafford, the roll was called and Commissioners Pafford, Peters, Jack -son, Mitchell and Surface and City Attorney Norris responded. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of July 15, 1935, were read and approved as read. A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A resolution relating to the construction of certain sidewalks in the City of Salina." On motion of Commissioner Peters the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Pafford, Peters, Jackson, Mitchell and Surface (5)Nays: (0) Mayor approved the resolution and it is numbered 633, The above resolution is recorded in full on Pages 329 to 332 in Resolution Book Number 2. A resolution was introduced entitled: "A Resolution relating to a contract with Union Pacific Railroad Company for the maintenance of Sewer Pipe Lines," On motion of Commissioner Surface the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Pafford, Peters, Jackson, Mitchell and Surface (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the resolution and it is numbered 634. The above resolution is recorded in full on Pages 333 and 334 Resolution Book Number 2. Application for taxicab drivers license received from John Gott - berg. On motion of Commissioner Jackson same was approved by the Board of Commissioners. Application for Pool Hall License for the last half of 1935 received as follows: j The Rex Smoker. Commissioner Jackson moved that same be approved by the Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted. Plans for Filling Station to be erected at the corner of Ninth Street and Pacific received from Albert Yost. On motion of Commissioner Surface same were approved by the Board of Commissioners. City Engineer submitted plans and'speeif ications and esti- mate of cost for: Re -paving Santa Fe Avenue from north line of Elm Street I to the north right-of-way line of the Union Pacific Railroad. Re -curbing and guttering Santa Fe Avenue from a point 130 feet south of the south line of Pine Street to the south line of Lincoln Avenue. i Construction of Railroad Crossings on Santa Fe Avenue be- tween the north line of Elm Street and the north Right-of-way line of the Union Pacific Railroad. Paving of Tenth Street from the north line of Park Street to the south line of Elm Street. i On motion, same were approved and ordered filed. The following communication was received from the Public Works Board: Salina, Kansas. July 22, 1935. To the Board of City Commissioners, Salina, Kansas. Gentlemen: At a meeting of the Public Works Advisory Board at 1:15 P.M. � Monday, July 22, 19352 the re -paving of Santa Fe Avenue from the north line of Elm Street to the north right-of-way line of Union Pacific Railroad, and the paving of Tenth Street from the north line of Park Street to the south line of Elm Street was considered.
