07-09-1935 Minutes1 1 1 L I r i COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING. COIQI ISSIONERS ROOM, SALINA.. KANSAS. JULY 9, 1935. Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners July 9th, 1935. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Pafford, the roll was called and Commissioners Pafford, Peters, Jackson and Mitchell and City Attorney Norris responded. Commissioner Surface absent. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance granting to The Salina Transit Company, a corporation; its successors and assigns the right to maintain and operate over, upon, along and across certain streets, alleys and public highways, in the City of Salina, Kansas, a bus transportation line with all con- veniences and necessities necessary or useful in the operation of the same prescribing the terms and conditions thereof and relating thereto.` On motion of Commission-er Jackson the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Pafford, Peters, Jackson and Mitchell (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Surface absent. Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 4551. A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: nA resolution relating to the recurbing of Santa Fe Avenue from a point 130 feet south of the south line of Pine Stre— et�''-to the south line of Lincoln Avenue." On motion of Commissioner Mitchell the resolution was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Pafford, Peters, Jackson and j Mitchell (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Surface absent. Mayor approved the resolution and it is numbered 631. The above resolution is recorded in full On page 326 of Resolution Book Number 2. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance providing for the re -paving of Santa Fe Avenue from the north line of Elm Street to the north right-of-way line of the main line right -of -way of the Union Pacific Railroad Company, and providing for the cost thereof and how the same shall1w assessed and the manner of payment therefor." Referred to the Board of Commissioners. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance providing for the paving of Tenth Street from the south line of Elm Street to the north line of Park Street and providing for the cost thereof, how the same shall be assessed and the manner of payment therefor," Referred to the Board of Commissioners. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance providing for the re -curbing and re -guttering of Santa Fe Avenue from a point 130 feet south of the south line of Pine Street to the south line of Lincoln Avenue." Referred to the Board of Commnissioners. A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: "A resolution authorizing H. N. Lamme, City Engineer of the City of Salina, Kansas, to sign on behalf of the City of Salina an applica- tion to the Federal Emergency Administration of Public Works for a grant of money to be used in payment of part of the cost of the construction of repaving Santa Fe Avenue from the north line of Elm Street to the north right-of-way line of the main line right-of-way of the Union Pacific Railroad Company, and for the recurbing of Santa Fe Avenue from a point 130 feet south of the south line of Pine Street to the north right-of-way line of the main line right-of- way of the Union Pacific Railroad Company, and for the paving of Tenth Street from the south line of Elm Street to the north line of Park Street."
