07-08-1935 MinutesCOMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING. COMMISSIONERS ROOM, SALINA, KANSAS. JULY S, 1935. I Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners July 8, 1935. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Pafford, the roll was called and Commissioners Pafford, Peters, Mitchell and Surface responded. Commissioner Jackson and City Attorney Norris responded. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of July 1, 1935 were j read and approved as read. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriation for the payment of a certain claim." I t On motion of Commissioner Surface the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Pafford, Peters, Mitchell and Surface (4) Nays: l0) Commissioner Jackson absent. Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 4550. A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: "An resolution relating to the re -curbing and re -guttering of Santa Fe Avenue from a point 130 feet south of the south line of Pine Street to the south line of Lincoln Avenue." On motion, same was referred to the B oard of Commissioners. i A resolution was introduced entitled: "A Resolution author- ; izing the City of Salina, Kansas, to file an application to the Matt Miller, 347 N. Fifth Street United States of America through the Federal Emergency Administration of Public Works for a grant to aid in financing the construction of an Elevated Water Storage Tank and Tower and designating H. L. Brown, City j John H. Anstey, 121 South Fifth Street. Manager and H. N. Lamme, City Engineer to furnish such information as the Government may request." On motion of Commissioner Peters the resolution was adopted as read and on its finaladoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Pafford, Peters, Mitchell and Surface (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Jackson absent. Mayor approved the resolutionand it is numbered 630. The above resolution is recorded in full on Pages 324 and 325, Resolution Book Number 2, Commissioner Surface moved that action on petition asking for the rezoning of northwest corner of Iron Avenue and Front Street, and other zoning changes now pending be deferred until some future meeting. Motion adopted. Commissioner Surface moved that applications be approved by the Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted. i A petition was presented asking for the removal of a billboard located at the corner of Ninth and Lincoln. On motion same was placed on file, On motion of Commissioner Peters the Board of Comnissioners adjourned to meet in regular session Tuesday, Jul 9, 1935 at 1:30 P. M. I City Clerk
