Regula r meeting of the Board of Commissioners or the City
of Salina, Kansas, July 1, 1935. Meeting was called to order by
mayor Pa rford, the roll was called and Commissioners Yarford, Peters,
Jackson, Mitchell and Surface and City Attorney Norris responded.
i The minutes of the Regular meeting of June 24, 1935; Regular
meeting of June 25, 1935 and two Regular meetings of June 27, 1935,
f were read and approved as read.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an
j appropriation for the payment of certain claims."

On motion of Commissioner Surface the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and
the following vote was nad; Ayes: Pafford, Peters, Jackson, Mitchell
and Surface Nays: (0) mayor approved the ordinance and it is num-
bered 4548.
The following claim to be paid from Relief Highway Fund was
i presented for payment:
Uhas. E. Banker, City clerk crash paid out for labor 4149.80
Commissioner Surface moved that claim be approved by the
Board of Commissioners. motion adopted.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an
appropriation from the Relief HighwayFund for the
payment of a certain
claim."
On motion of Commissioner Peters the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and
the following vote was had; Ayes: Pafford, Peters, Jackson, Mitchell
and Surface (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is
numbered 4549.
Sign Application No. 146 asking permission to erect a sign
on building located at 108 South Santa Fe Avenue was received from
Geo. Seitz Shoe Uompany. On motion of Commissioner Peters same was
approved by the Board of Commissioners.
Application for license to sell malt and cereal beverages in
the City of Salina received as follows:

V. W. maupin. On motion of Commissioner Surface same was approved by
the Board of Commissioners.

A petition was presented asking for the construction of curbing
and guttering on Kansas Avenue from Elm Street to a point 500 feet
north of Elm Street, Same was referred to the City manager.,
The ma tter of re -zoning the north-west corn�'r 'of Iron Avenue
and Front Street was taken up and on motion, action on same was
deferred until next Monday, JLbths 19359 with other zoning matters.
