E I Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners June 17, 1935. i Meeting was called to order by Mayor Pafford, the roll was called and Commissioners Pafford, Peters, Jackson and Mitchell and City Attorney I Norris responded. Commissioner Surface absent. j The minutes of the Regular Meeting of June 10, 1935 were read j and approved as read. a ' An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriation for the P payment of certain claims." i s j On motion of Commissioner Peters the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and ! the following vote was had; Ayes: Pafford, Peters, Jackson and � Mit- chell (4) Nays: y (0� Commissioner Surface absent. Magor approved the ordinance and itis numbered 4545. The following claims to be paid from Relief HigAway Fund were I presented for payment: j Chas. E. Banker, City Clerk Cash paid out for labor $184.40 Leidigh & Havens Lumber Co. Cement, Lumber, Expansion Joints 95.53 Putnam Sand & Building Co., Sand 38.88 j On motion of Commissioner Jackson the above claims were ap- proved by the Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted. i An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriation for the payment of certain claims from Relief highway Fund. On motion of Commissioner Jackson the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final a doption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Pafford, Peters, Mitchell and Jackson (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Surface absent. Mayor approvedthb ordinance and it is numbered 4546. A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: "A resolution relating to the paving of Tenth Street from the south line of Elm Street to the north line of Park Street. Same was referred to the Board of Commissioners. A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: "A resolution relating to the construction of certain sidewalks in the City of Salina, Kansa s." Same was referred to the Board of Commis- sioners. N. Simmons, 308 E. Pacific Mrs. C. A. Kohler 154 N. Santa Fe Avenue On motion of Commissioner Jackson the above applications were approved by the Board of Commissioners. Application for taxicab drivers license for the year 1935 received from: E. W. Thompson On motion of Commissioner Peters application was approved by the Board of Commissioners. Mayor Pafford appointed Gilbert Geery, George Robb and W. R. Leighton as members of the City Planning Commission for a term of three years from May 1st, 1935. On motion of Commissioner Peters the appoint- ments were confirmed by the Board of Commissioners. Mayor Pafford appointed I. J. (Ted) Branson) as a member of the Welfare Board of the City of Salina, for a term of five years frrna May 21, 1935. On motion of Commissioner Jackson the appointment was confirmed by the Board of Commissioners. 1 J LFA 1 A communication was received from W. B. mcmickle, d/b/a De Luxe Cab Company, for jitney service to the public on certain streets in the City of Salina at the expiration of the franchise of the Salina Street Railway Company.
