Regular meeting of the Board of Conmissioners April 29,,
1935* Meeting was called to order by Mayor Pafford,, the roll was called
and Commissioners Pafford,, Peters,, Jackson, Mitchell and Surface and
City Attorney Norris responded*
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of April 22,, 1955 were
read and approved as read.
Pursuant to notice published In the Salina Journal
$18,340*53 par value of Internal Improvement Bonds of the City of
Salina dated December 1,, 1934 were placed on sale* Offers for said
bonds were received from:
City National Bank & Trust Co.,, Kansas City., Missouri.
Small, Millburn & Co., Wichita, Kansas.
R. H. Middlekauff Co*, Wichita, Kansas.
Estes, Payne & Company, Topeka, Kansas.
Brown-Crummer Company,, Wichita,, Kansas.
Columbian Securities Corporation,, Topeka,, Kansas.
Stern Bros., & Company,, Kansas City, Missouri*
The highest offer for said bonds was made by Estes, Payne &
Company of Topeka,, Kansas at par and accrued interest from date of
bonds to date of delivery,, plus a premium of f12*80 per thousand,
C,missioner Peters moved tha t f18,340.53 Internal Improve-
ment Bonds be sold to Estes, Payne & Company of Topeka, Kansas, at
par and accrued Interest from date of bonds to date of delivery, plus
a premium of $12,80 per thousand, and that the Mayor be authorized to
sign a contract with Estes# Payne &- Company of Topekap Kansas for the
sale and delivery of said bonds on such terms, and that the cashiers
check for $425*00 deposited with the City Clerk as evidence of good
faith of the purchaser be held in accordance with the terms of said
contract,, and that the certified checks of unsuccessful bidders be
returned by the City Clerk* motion adopted*
Commissioner Surface moved that the Building Inspector be
instructed to issue a building permit to Paul Wary for the erection of
a Filling Station at 902 North Ninth Street, motion adopted*
A petition was presented asking for the rezoning of Lots
51, 52 and 53 on Front Street, Original Town of Salina from► "B"
residential zone to "C" Commercial zone* Commissioner Surface moved
that same be referred to the City Planning Commission.
Application for license to drive a taxicab in the City of
Salina, received from:
T. C. Tuffley,
Roy E. Craig*
Commissioner Surface moved that applications be approved
by the Board of Commissioners* motion adopted*
Application for license to sell malt and cereal beverages
In the City of Salina received as follows:
WHOLESALE BEVERAGE DEALERS LICENSE
Kelley Produce Co,., 134-136 North Fifth Street.
RETAIL CLASS "Be BEVERAGE DEALERS LICENSE
Mack's cafe, 111 East Ash Street
Commissioner Surface moved that applications be approved by
the Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted*
Application for taxicab license received from:
T. 'Cuff ley
Commissioner Surface moved that same be approved by the
Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted*
Combination Gas Fitters and Plumbers Bond received from
Me R. Powell. Commissioner Peters moved that same be approved by the
Board of Commissioners, notion adopted,
A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: "A
resolution relating to the eaonstruetiom of certain sidews.113 in the
City of Salina," Same was referred to the Board of Cos+missioners.
On motion of Commissioner Surface the Board of Commissioners
adjourned to meet in regular -session, Friday, May 3rd, 1935 at ls30
