03-25-1935 Minutes1 F� 1 n 1 COialMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING. UOMMISSIONEKS ROOM, SALINA, KANSAS. MARUH 25, 1935. Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners March 25, 1935. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Pafford, the roll was called and Commissioners Pafford, Spaeth, Morey, Peters and Surface and City Attorney Norris responded. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of March 18, 1935 were read and approved as read. Application for license to sell malt and cereal beverages in the City of Salina received from: RETAIL CLASS "B" BEVERAGE DEALERS LICENSE R. Vl. Hutchins, 901 North Santa Fe Avenue Commissioner Morey moved that application be approved by the Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted. Commissioner Surface moved that the City of Salina accept the offer of the United States Airways of X100.00 for the building owned by them at the Salina Municipal Airport, and that the City Attorney be instructed to prepare the Bill of Sale for the same. Motion adopted. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance granting to Firestone Tire & Rubber Companyf its success- ors and assigns, permission to construct and maintain a gasoline pipeline in, under and across certain portions of Iron Avenue, Fourth Street, Walnut Street and Fifth Street in Salina, Kansas.n On motion of Commissioner Morey the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its finaledoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Pafford, S-)aeth, Morey, Peters and Surface. (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 4524. A resolution was introduced entitled: " A resolution relating to U. S. Highway 81 from Jewell Avenue to Cloud Street at the south City limits." On motion of Commissioner Peters the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the follow - in vote was had; Ayes: Pafford, Spaeth, Morey, Peters and Surface (5� Nays: (0) Mayor approved the same and it is numbered 617. The above resolution is recorded in full on Pages 291-292 and 293 of Resolution Book Number 2. A resolution was introduced entitled: "A Resolution relating to the maintenance of US Highway No. 81 from Jewell Avenue to Cloud Street at the south City limits." On motion of Commissioner Morey the resolution was adopted as read and on its finaladoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Pafford, Spaeth, Morey, Peters and Surface (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the same and it is numbered 618. The above resolution is recorded in full on Page 294 of Resolution lbok Number 2, Commissioner Spaeth moved that the Mayor and City Clerk be authorized to sign Resolutions Number 617 and 618, motion adopted. A resolution was introduced entitled: "A resolution relating to the assessment of benefits against certain property for the condemna- tion of an easement for sewer purposes.t' On motion of Commissioner Spaeth the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Pafford, Spaeth, Morey, Peters and Surface (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the resolution and it is numbered 619. The above resolution is recorded in full on Page 295 of Reso- lution Book Number 2. City Attorney submitted opinion on gas petition presented to the Board of Commissioners March 18th, 1935. Commissioner Surface moved that no further action be taken on the matter in view of the City Attorneys opinion. Motion adopted. On motion of Commissioner Surface the Board of Commissioners adjourned.
