Meeting was called to order by Mayor Pafford, the roll was called and Commissioners Pafford, Peters and Surface and. City --Attorney ( Norris responded. Commissioners Spaeth and Morey absent. l The minutes of the Regular Meeting of February 18, 1935, were read and approved as read. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriation for the payment of a certain claim.* On motion of Commissioner Peters the ordinance was read and j adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Pafford, Peters and Surface (3) Nays: (0) Commissioners Spaeth and Morey absent, Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 4514, A petition was presented asking for the extension of a water main in North Street from Front Street to Arthur Street, north in Arthur Street to Lincoln Street, eas t in Lincoln Street to Chester Street. Same was referred to the Waterworks Advisory Board. Application asking for license to sell malt and cereal bever- ages in the City of Salina for the first half of 1935 received from: RETAIL CLASS "B" MALT & CEREAL BEVERAGE LICENSE -------------------------- i John S. Gordon, 340 North Santa Fe Avenue Commissioner Surface moved that application be approved by the Board of Commissioners. Commissioner Surface moved that the Building Inspector be authorized to issue a building permit for the construction of a filling station at the corner of Ninth and Antrim Streets. Motion adopted, An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance ratifying and confirming a contract for the building and construction of Storm Sewer Number 17-B, and providing for the issuance of Temporary Notes to pay the cost thereof pending issuance and sale of bonds." On motion same was referred to tb.-. Boerd of Commissioners. 'I, An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance relating to the parking of trucks on certain portions of certain streets, as providied for in Section 50 of Ordinance No. 4476." On motion same was referred to, the Board of Commissioners. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance relating to the angle parking of vehicles on certain streets, as provided for in Section 19 of Ordinance No, 4476, On motion same was referred to the Board of Commissioners, w An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance amending Section 51 of Ordinance No. 4476, relating to and regulating the use, operation and parking of vehicles on streets in the City of Salina, and repealing said original section." On motion same was referred to the Board of Commissioners. A resolution was introduced entitled: "A Resolution relating to the application of the City of Salina for Emergency Relief Funds in i connection with a project for the construction of concrete sidewalks." On motion of Commissioner Surface the resolution was adopted as read and,on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Pafford, Peters and Surface (3) Nays: (0) Commissioners Spaeth and Morey absent, Mayor approved the Resolution and it is numbered 615.; ' The above resolution is recorded in full on Page s numbered i 288 and 289 of Resolution Book Number 2, i Commissioner Peters moved that the Building Inspector be author- ized to issue a building permit to Virgil Ryberg for the remodeling of a residence into a 3 -family apartment, located at 749 S. Ninth Street. Motion adopted. Commissioner Surface moved that the City Manager be instructed to purchase truck and necessary equipment for street flusher. Motion adopted.
