03-23-1936 MinutesCOMM ISS IONERS PRO CEEL IN GS , it E J ULAR MEETING. COMMISSIONERS ROOM, SALINA, KANSAS. MARCH 23, 1936. Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners March 23, 1936. Mee ting was called to order by Mayor Peters, the roll was called and Commissioners Peters, Jackson, Mitchell, Morgenstern and Surface and City Attorney Norris responded. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of March 16, 1936 were read and approved as read. A letter from W. B. McMickle, Manager of DeLuxe Cab Company, was received and ordered filed. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance relating to the operation of taxicabs in the City of Salina, Kansas." On motion of Commissioner Surface the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Aes: Peters, Jackson, Mitchell, Morgen- stern and Surface (5) Nays: T0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 4625. Application for license to sell malt and cereal beverages in the City of Salina received as follows: RETAIL CLASS "A* BEVERAGE DEALERS LICENSE A. E. Evans, d/b/a Dixie Tourist Camp, 805 W. North St., Eva Alvord, d/b/a a Mothers Inn #2, 505 North Ninth Street RETAIL CLASS "B" BEVERAGE DEALERS LICENSEâ–º Dan Shore, d/b/a Ur -Way Sandwixh Shop #2, 111 East Ash Street. Commissioner Jackson moved that applications be approved by the Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted. Commissioner Jackson moved that applications of Cuba Steak Inn and Up -Town Lunch asking for Retail Class "B" Beverage Dealers License, presented to the Board of Commissioners March 16, 19360 be approved by the Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted. Application for taxicab drivers license received from Wm. R. Cox. Commissioner Jackson moved that application be approved by the Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted. Billboard Application No. 161, asking for permission to erect a billboard on Lot 11, HLock 7, Calkints.-Addition received from Rogers Poster Service. Commissioner Surface moved that application be granted by the Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted. Bert Holmquist appeared before the Board of Commissioners in reference to Tent Show and Amusement Park license. Leo Hill of the Salina Iron and Metal Company appeared before the Board of Commissioners in reference to Junk Dealers License. Walter Smith and five others appeared before the Board of Com- missioners in the matter of request for water mains on Merrill Street and Ha ncock Stree ts. Mr. Diener appeared before the Board of Commissioners in con- nection with trees in parking in Republic Avenue adjacent to Sunset Park.
