COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING.

Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners February 17,
I 1936. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Peters, the roll was called
! and Commissioners Peters, Jackson, Mitchell, Morgenstern and Surface
and City Attorney Norris responded.

The minutes of the Regular Meeting of February 10, 1936 and
Regular Meeting of February 12, 1936 were read and approved as read. �

An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making
an appropriation for the payment of certain claims."

On motion of Commissioner Morgenstern the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the following vote was had; Peters, Jackson, Mitchell, Morgenstern
and Surface (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is
numbered 4615.

The following claims to be paid from Relief Highway Fund
were presented for payment:
Chas, E. Banker, City Clerk Cash paid out for labor $345.85
Eberhardt Lumber Company Lumber and Cement 59.84
Putnam Sand & Building Co., Sand 40.81
Leidigh & Havens Lumber Co. Lumber and Cement 29.38
Total - - - - - - - - 475.88
On motion of Commissioner Jackson claims were allowed by
the Board of Commissioners. Motion carried.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an
appropriation from the Relief Highway Fund for the payment of certain
claims.
On motion of Commissioner Mitchell the ordinance was read and f
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and
the following vote was had; Ayes: Peters, Jackson, Mitchell, Mor-
genstern and Surface (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance
and it is numbered 4616.
The following claim to be paid from P.W.A Docket State File
No, 1031 Account was presented for payment:

On motion of Commissioner Morgenste rh claim was approved
by the Board of Commissioners. Motion carried.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making
an appropriation from the Public Works Administration Docket State
File No. 1031 Account for the payment of a certain claim.""
On motion of Commissioner Surface the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and
the following vote was had; Ayes: Peters, Jackson, Mitchell, Morgen-
stern and Surface (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it
is numbered 4617.

An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An
ordinance creating a certain fund to be known as "Drainage and Paving
Improvements Construction Account P.W.A. State File No, Kan, 1050 R*;
authorizing the appropriation and transfer of certain money in the sum
of $32,100.00 from the Waterworks Department Fund to the fund so
created; designating a certain bank a depositary for the money placed
in and to be acquired by such fund and providing for the manner in which
the money so deposited in such special account shall be accounted for
and used.
On motion of Commissioner Jackson the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and
the following vote was had; Ayes: Peters, Jackson, Mitchell, Morgen-
stern and Surface (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it

-Applications for taxicab drivers license for the year 1936
received as follows:

On motion of Commissioner Morgenstern same were approved by
the Board of Commissionerso,
Deed for the sale of two crypts in the Hillcrest Mausoleum to
W. 0. Lyter was received. Commissioner Surface moved that the Mayor
and City Clerk be authorized to sign deed and deliver the same on
payment to the City of $200,00 as per contract. Motion carried.
Commissioner Surface moved that the Policy Binder of Salina
Transit Company for the Aetna Casualty & Surety Company be approved.
Motion adopted.
Commissioner Morgenstern moved that the building permit for
the erection of a building on Lot 2, Block 5, Pacific Addition to
the City of Salina, Kansas, by the Motor Service Company, the entrance
tower nine feet in width to extend fourteen inches out on City property,
be approved. Motion carried.
Commissioner Surface moved that the City Manager notify Dotson
and Meckling that their Beer License will be cancelled within thirty
days, and that in the future the place is to be conducted according
to the rules and regulations of City ordinances. Motion carried.
Moved by Commissioner Surface that action of Board of Commis-
sioners of February 12, 1936, rejecting application of Clara Smith
for Beverage Dealers License at -121 East Walnut Street be recon-
sidered, and that the former action be rescinded, and that the appli-
cation be granted, and that a license be issued on condition that
D. Be Smith have no part in the operation of the place or frequent
the same, that the place close at 12 o'clock each night, and that no
dancing be permitted in the place, and that the license be subject to
revocation at any time if any complaint is made relative to the conduct
of the place which the Commissioners deem sufficient. Motion carried.
A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: "A
Resolution granting an extension of time for the completion of a certain
contract with Johnson Bros. Construction Company.' Same was
referred to the Board of Commissioners.
On motion of Commissioner Surface the Board of Commissioners
adjourned.
