COMMISSIONERS ROOM,
SALINA, KANSAS.
FEBRUARY 12, 1936.
Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners February
12, 1936. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Peters, the roll
was called and Commissioners Peters, Mitchell, Morgenstern and
Surface and City Attorney Norris responded. Commissioner Jackson
absent.
Application of Clara Smith for a Retail Beverage Class
"B" License was presented. Moved by Commissioner Surface , seconded
by Commissioner Mitchell that the application be rejected and that
check deposited with such license application be returned to the
applicant. Motion carried.
Contract and Maintenance Bond and Statutory Bond of
Harry J. Taylor, doing business as H. J. Taylor Construction Company,
each in the amount of $54,478.20 with The Weste rn Casualty & Surety
Company of Fort Scott, Kansas, as Surety, filed in connection with
and as required by his contract with the City of Salina, dated
October 28, 1935, for Job No..84, were presented, and on motion of
Commissioner Surface, seconded by Commissioner Morgenstern the bonds
were approved by the Board of Commissioners by the following vote:
Ayes: Peters, Mitchell, Morgenste rn and Surface (4) Nays: (0)
Commissioner Jackson absent.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance creating a certain fund to be known as "Drainage and
Paving Improvements Construction Account P*W*A. State File No, Kan,
1050 R"; authorizing the appropriation and transfer of certain money
in the sum -of $32,100.00 from the Waterworks Department Fund to the
fund so created; designating a certain bank a depositary for the
money placed in and to be acquired by such fund and providing for the
manner in which the money so deposited in such special account shall
be accounted for and used." On motion, same was referred to
the Board of Commissioners.
On motion of Commissioner Surface the Board of Commission-
ers adjourned.
