Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners January 20,
1936. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Peters, the roll was called
and Commissioners Peters, Jackson, Mitchell, Morgenstern and Surface
and City Attorney Norris responded.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of January 13, 1936 were
read and approved as,read.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making
an appropriation for the payment of certain claims."
On motion of Commissioner Jackson the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll w as called
and the following vote was had; Ayej ; Peters, Jackson, Mitchell,
Morgenstern and Surface -(5) Nays: 0) Mayor approved the ordinance
and it is numbered 4607.
The following claims to be paid from Public Works Administratio#i
Docket State File Number 1031, fund were presented for payment:
City of Salina Water Dept. Cash paid out for purchase of site
and for legal printing $1293.35

On motion of Commissioner Jackson same were approved by the
Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making
an appropriation from the PWA Docket State File No. 1031, fund for the
payment of certain claims .M
On motion of Commissioner Surface the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and
the following vote was had; Aes: Peters, Jackson, Mitchell, Morgen-
stern and Surface (5) Nays: 10) Mayor approved the ordinance and
it is numbered 4608.
The following claims to be paid from Relief Highway Fund
were presented for payment:

On motion of Commissioner Morgenstern claims were approved by
the Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an
appropriation from�the Relief Highway Fund for the payment of certain
claims,
On motion of Commissioner Jackson the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and
the following vote was had; Aye$ : Peters, Jackson, Mitchell, Morgen-
stern and Surface (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it
is numbered 4609.

On motion of Commissioner Surface applications were approved
by the Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted.

On motion of Commissioner Jackson applications were approved
by the Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted.
Resign tion of George Robb, as a member of the City Planning
Commission was presented and accepted by the Board of Commissioners.
A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled:
"A Resolution revising and approving an estimate of the Project costs
of Paving Improvements -- Job No, 84." Same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled:
"A Resolution relating to Highway Improvements along U. S. Highway 81,
and authorizing a contract with the State Highway Commission". Same
was referred to the Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An
ordina nee vacating a part of a certain alley in the City of Salina,
Kansgs." Same was referred to the Board of Commissioners.
A Quit -Claim Deed to E. L. Brookhouser for part of Lot 31,
Block 1, Riverside Park Addition. Commissioner Surface moved that the
Mayor and City Clerk be authorized to sign same on behalf of the City
of Salina.
Commissioner Morgenstern moved that the sentence of the
Police (hurt against Glenn McCullick of $100.00 fine and thirty days
in jail; and the sentence against Chas. Dilley of $5.00, heretofore
imposed by the Police (burt against such persons be remitted by the
Board of Commissioners, and that the City Clerk furnish the Police
Judge with a copy of the record. Motion carried.
On motion of Commissioner Surface the Board of Commissioners
adjourned to meet in regular session, Tuesday, January 21, 1936.
