COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING •
COMMISSIONERS ROOM,
SALINA, KANSAS
NOVEMBER 24, 1952
Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners November 24, 1952. Meeting
was called to order by Mayor Barcafer, the roll was called and Commissioners Barcafer,
Cobb, Price, Ramsey and Wenger and City Attorney Clark responded.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of November 17, 1952 and Board of Zoning
Appeals Meeting of November 17, 1952 wereread and approved as read.
Discussion of taxicab fares. Emery Klein and Ed French present.
Commissioner Wenger moved that action on same be held over for one week
for final approval of rates. Carried.
An ordinance was introduced and passed entitled: "An ordinance making
appropriation for the payment of certain claims."
On motion of Commissioner Price the ordinance was read and adopted by sections
and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes:
Barcafer, Cobb, Price, Ramsey and Wenger (5} flays: (0) Mayor approved the ordi- •
nance and it is Numbered A-618.
Resolution was introduced and passed relating to construction of 16 -inch
sewer pipe line across the Right -of -Way of Union Pacific Company's McPherson Branch
tracks."
On motion of Commissioner Price the resolution was adopted as read and on its
final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Barcafer,
Cobb, Price, Ramsey and Wenger (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the resolution
and it is Numbered 1557.
The above resolution is recorded in full on Page 562 Resolution Book 5.
Petition was filed by Drew Hartnett, Attorney for Safeway Stores Company,
Inc., for the rezoning of Wiegner and Watson property in the 100 Block on South
Santa r'e Avenue. Referred to City Planning Commission.
Petition presented from B. R. Becker for rezoning Lots 17 and 19, HLock 46,
Military Addition to "D" Local Business. Referred to City Planning Commission.
Conveyance of Easement for Block 1, Claflin's Addition was presented from
Verner C. Smith. Commissioner Ramsey moved to accept. Carried.
Commissioner Price moved that petition for Angle Parking in front of
800-804 East Ash Street, (Church of God Church) be denied. Carried.
Ordinance was introduced for first reading relating to one-way streets
on Fifth Street nd Seventh Street. Referred to Board of Commissioners.
A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: "A Resolution •
relating to the curbing, guttering and grading of the South side of Ellsworth Avenue
from the center line of Roach Street to the center line of Ohio Avenue." Resolu-
tion was referred to the Board of Commissioners.
A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: "A Resolution
relating tothe curbing, guttering and grading the West side of Ohio Avenue from
the center line of Ellsworth Avenue to the center line of Jewell Avenue." Reso-
lution was referred to the Board of Commissioners.
On motion of Commissioner Wenger the Board of Commissioners adjourned.
