07-21-1952 Minutes345 • COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING COMMISSIONERS ROOM, SALINA, KANSAS. JULY 21, 1952 Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners July 21, 1952. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Barcafer, the roll was called and Commissioners Barcafer, Cobb, Price and Ramsey and City Attorney Clark responded. Commissioner King absent. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of July 14, 1952 and Special Meeting of July 14, 1952 wereread and approved as read. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance providing for the display of numbering of buildings being erected, and providing a penalty for the violation thereof." On motion of Commissioner Price the grdinance was read and adopted by sec- tions and on its final adoption the roll was piled and the following vote was had; • Ayes: Barcafer, Cobb, Price and Ramsey (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner King absent. Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 5678. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance pro- viding and establishing the rates to be charged consumers of water sold by the Water Works Department of the City of Salina and amending Section 1 of .Ordinance Number 5501 andproviding for the repeal of s aid Section l." On motion of Commissioner Cobb the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll -'was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Barcafer, Cobb, Price and Ramsey (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner King absent. Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 5679. A resolution was introduced and passed entitled: "A resolution relating to lighting service in Sunset Park." On motion of Commissioner Cobb the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll wascalled and the following vote was had; Ayes: Barcafer, Cobb, Price and Ramsey (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner King absent. Mayor approved the resolutionand it is Numbered 1324. The above resolution is recorded in full on Page 398 Resolution Book 4. An ordinance was introduced and passed entitled: "An ordinance making Appro- priatoin for the payment of certain claims." On motion of Commissioner Price the ordinance was read and adopted by sec- tions and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Barcafer, Cobb, Price and Ramsey (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner King • absent. Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered A-601. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance providing for the amendment of the description of Tract #8 of Section 1 and Paragraph #2 of Section 2 of Ordinance No. 5672 and for repeal of the original of said React #8 of Section 1 of Paragraph #2 of Section 2 of said ordinance." Ordinance was, referred to the Board of Commissioners. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance pro- viding for the construction of certain storm sewers and drainage in the City of Salina, to a designated as Storm Sewers Number DA., D -B, D -C and D D, and providing for the letting of contrAct for such construction and for the payment of the cost thereof." Ordinance was referred to the Board of Commissioners, Application for Cereal Malt Beverage License was presented from John W. Logan, d/b/a 1181-40 Cafe" 830 North Ninth Street. Approved by Commissioner Price subject to final inspection by Food Inspection Department. Carried. A petition was presented for the paving with concrete, Delaware Avenue from Stapler to Gypsum Avenue. Referred to City Manager. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance providing fbr the paving and grading of the alley between Turd Street and Foarth S reet, from the north line of Walnut Street, 400 feet more or less to the Smoky HAl River, and providing for the cost thereof, how the cost thereof shall be assessed and the manner of payment thereof."
